About the location

WOOLFARDISWORTHY, NORTH DEVON

  • Cranford 1.6 miles
  • Bideford 8 miles
  • Barnstaple 17 miles

A village of two names, this North Devon village of Woofardisworthy is also known by the name Woolsery and is pronounced as such. With this shortened pronunciation in use since the 17th century, it is an unsolved curiosity as to why it has two names. Lying not far from the North Devon coast and Bideford Bay, this village is perfectly situated for exploring what this top half of the county has to offer. Home to a local shop, a cafe, a fish and chip shop and a pub, you have all you need waiting within the village. Head to Higher Clovelly to enjoy The Milky Way Adventure Park, a great day out for all, or traverse the Hartland Devon Heritage Coast via the South West Coastal Path to enjoy stunning landscapes and ocean views. The Cornish surfing haven of Bude is just over 30-minutes away, so head to the beach and get a surf lesson from the experts. A delightful position in the south of England, ideal for a perfect mix of coast and country.
