  • "Lovely accommodation just 2 mins walk from the centre of Axminster."

Great Community and independent shops, nice market on a Thursday and lovely real ales at the Axminster Inn and The Ale Way. Great access to the coast and other interesting places to visit. Would be happy to stay again.

Thanks Charis for the lovely feedback, we are really happy you enjoyed your stay with us. Property Owner

  • "The cutlery and plates had not been washed and there was dust on some areas of the apartment, this was a little disappointing as on the whole the apartment was very nice and in a quiet location , just a short walk from Axminster and its amenities ."

We enjoyed our stay at Mitchell Gardens.

Hi Richard -- I am very sorry the cleaning hadn't been conducted properly and that was obviously disappointing. We will take this up with our property manager - who are usually exemplary. On the whole, we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Thanks Marianne and Andrew. Property Owner

  • "The perfect home away from home."

Mitchell Gardens is clean, comfortable & well very equipped. The additional toilet is a definite bonus & the property has good WIFI connectivity, a must have for our teenage granddaughter. On arrival, we parked in the designated space & our car stayed there all week until departure day. The train station & bus terminus are located less than 5 minutes walk away & got us to all our destinations without the stress of trying to find parking in peak season. Two supermarkets very nearby & Axminster has a small weekly market on a Thursday, bought fruit, veg & bread there. Don’t expect a view, it’s on a small housing development & backs onto a carpark. Having said that it ticked all the boxes for us. We had a most enjoyable week & would certainly book again.

Thanks Gina for the great feedback - it is very much appreciated. Lovely to hear you had a great stay with us! Andrew & Marianne. Property Owner

  • "This is a lovely 2 bedroom duplex in heart of Axminster."

Great location for exploring East Devon with various seasides only 10-15 mins away by car. 5 min walk to train station and buses nearby. Own parking bay outside if required. Modern decoration, very clean, good Wi-Fi and TV set up, very well maintained with well equipped kitchen. Balcony was a bonus with nice seating area although over looks a car park but still great to sit out there. Main bedroom was lovely, comfy beds, handy with the 2 toilets. Accommodation was exactly as described. Maybe consider small bedside table and lamp in 2nd bedroom would be our only thing to consider for the future. We had a lovely week, pleased we selected this property and would highly recommend.

Thank-you David for the great review and we are very pleased to hear you had a good stay with us and enjoyed your time away. Your suggestion of a lamp is a good one (thank-you!) and we'll add it the next time we are there and locate it on the chest of drawers. Property Owner

  • "Spacious comfortable accommodation."

    Had everything we needed .

Thank-you for your review and for your lovely comment. We appreciate all feedback on our property, so we can see what our guests like and where we can improve. We have noted that we didn't score full marks in the breakdown - with a consistent 4/5. Is there anything we could have done to improve on those areas in your opinion ? as we consistently get full marks from other reviews. Anything you can highlight we would be very grateful for. Thanks Andrew and Marianne. Property Owner

  • "We had a great stay and would certainly use this property again in the future."

The shower is very small and a shelf would be of great benefit to save having to try and bend down in a restricted space. Axminster is a good base for visiting this wonderful area in East Devon/ West Dorset.

Many thanks for the great feedback and delighted you have booked with us again for next year! We have listened to your (and others feedback) and will be adding a shelf in the shower very shortly :-) Property Owner

  • "This is a lovely flat, very clean and well-equipped."

The double bed was exceptionally comfortable and deserves a special mention. If I may make a couple of suggestions: firstly, the shower cubicle is rather small, so a little shelf for putting shampoo etc on would be handy as there’s not much room for picking things up from the floor. Secondly, since there’s a washer/dryer, an iron and ironing board would have been useful. The location of the flat, just round the corner from two supermarkets, is very convenient, and the nominated parking space right outside is excellent. Axminster itself isn’t especially exciting, but is an excellent base for sightseeing, and there is loads to see and do in that part of Devon. Overall, lovely flat, reasonably priced, decent location: we were very happy.

Thank-you for the lovely feedback, very glad you enjoyed your stay, and for the suggestions. We will certainly action putting a small (but useful) shelf in the shower and adding an ironing board/iron to the flat (there used to be one but it was never used so we removed it). Many thanks Andrew & Marianne. Property Owner

  • "Spacious, modern, clean apartment which we enjoyed."

Parking a bit of a challenge . Only negative was that not much to do in Axminster. Few good places to drink or eat.

Many thanks for your positive feedback, but also what you wrote in balance -- which is very useful for where we need to improve things where we can. I am sorry parking was a bit of a challenge -- we've not had that feedback before as we have a dedicated parking spot at the front of the flat - but we'll keep an eye on things in case others are parking in that when they should not if that was the issue. Also, places to eat and drink in Axminster, I hope you don't mind me suggesting some for the benefit of others who may read the review: The George Inn in the centre of town is great for a variety of things on the menu, there are 2 excellent Indian restaurants (Cinnamons and Safar), Cow and Bean does a very good burger and other American dinner type menu, The Golden House for Chinese, or La Pisani for Mediterranean/Pizza. These also do take-aways (on the whole) and there is also take-away Fish and Chips etc. And a short drive away is Hunters Lodge towards Lyme Regis which is truly excellent. Plus there are 4-5 different pubs in town if you fancy a drink (recommend the small but excellent one right next to Axminster station).Thank-you again for the good feedback, very happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with us, and the lovely area which is the Jurassic coast. • "We had a great week stay at 9 Mitchel Gardens."

The accommodation is furnished to a very high standard and it was impeccably clean. It had all the mod cons such as Alexa and an Xbox and is modern, stylish and yet comfortable. It was a great base to go visiting both Devon and Dorset. We especially enjoyed crabbing off the Cobb in Lyme Regis and also visited exmouth beach for rock pooling and rode the trams at Seaton. A great stay, we would definitely recommend and definitely return here.
