  • “We paid for seven nights because we were unable to get a four night booking.”

We did in fact leave after four nights because lockdown was announced during our stay and we wanted to get home, otherwise we may have stayed longer. The property was as described. We did in fact leave after four nights because lockdown was announced during our stay and we wanted to get home, otherwise we may have stayed longer. The property was as described. It has been refurbished very recently by the looks of it and to a high standard. There were a few items of pre-refurbishment furniture which were a little at odds with the new modern decor. The bathrooms were fantastic. The bungalow is just up the hill from a local pub and next to a field of cows, with rabbits and pheasants in the wooded area to the side and back. It was idyllic and a couple of minutes walk into Bampton. The cottage was very well equipped and the heating and hot water were very efficient. Bampton is a lovely little town with pubs, cafes, more than enough shops to get what you would need for a stay. My only suggestion would be for the owner to buy a much bigger door mat inside the hall - otherwise the lovely brand new floor is going to get grubby! It was certainly the best self catering accommodation we've stayed in for a long time.

Thank you for you kind and constructive comments.  You are quite correct in noting that a few items of furniture are in need of updating. Alas, the COVID 19 restrictions of 2020 resulted in severe delays to manufacturers' delivery schedules; as a consequence, the new settees for the lounge were not available for you despite being ordered months in advance of our opening. We have our fingers crossed that the new furniture will be in place for December 2020.  And a much bigger doormat is on order! - Sykes owner relations
