  • "We had a fantastic week staying in Oak lodge, very comfortable bed’s & sofas, ..."

We had a fantastic week staying in Oak lodge, very comfortable bed’s & sofas, the lodge is in a very private area with no other passing residents, the hot tub was great which we used most evenings, a great location for the hills of Exmoor & the Quantocks with all the lovely nearby beaches & amazing coastline, we stayed on a very hot week so could have done with a fan in each bedroom, plus the washing line could be moved from under the tree as the birds can mess on the clean washing but not enough of a negative to change my rating, we would love to return as a week wasn’t quite long enough

It was wonderful to come back to the hot tub after a day trip with the children - very relaxing!

  • "We had a wonderful stay, the lodge is lovely and qaint and traditional."

Would be nice if some daily consumables were a little more available like dishwasher tablets, bin bags, coffee etc. As it introduces hassle as soon as you get there. Everything else was great and we had a nice peaceful stay in the countryside.

  • "Lovely lodge with great hot tub."

Had a really relaxing family break in a good location. Strange that Sykes don't mention the other properties that are also on site. Only minor thing would've been good to have a better frying pan but otherwise facilities were great & think we had a more secluded spot with our lodge.

  • "We had an amazing week staying at Oak Lodge as a family of 4 over Easter."

Our first holiday in 3 years! The accommodation is perfect. Every attention to detail has been thought of, from logs ready to go on the wood burner to the perfectly maintained hot tub – even a welcome treat on our arrival! There is a charcoal BBQ available, outdoor table & seating and lounger seats plus a garden area to enjoy with lovely views. Luckily the weather allowed us to make use of this! The hot tub is a real gem and made the whole week very special and relaxing. It was cleaned every morning by the team. The interesting noises from the local Zoo were a highlight. The grounds are kept well by someone who clearly takes pride in his work. All the facilities included inside such at TV’s, plenty of sockets, a fully fitted kitchen with everything you could want and the wonderful shower facilities it’s just like a home from home. All the beds are super comfortable as well which makes a nice change! The location is excellent with beaches, walks, pubs & restaurants and Dunster Castle 10-15 minutes away. The owners Lloyd and Lynn have done a brilliant job making our stay as welcoming and comfortable as possible and were always on hand to help, if necessary, with suggestions of where to go and what to do. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We will definitely be back! Thank you very much, this was exactly what we needed as a family.

  • "The holiday cottage was a peaceful place to stay, the furniture in the lodge was of exceptional quality, the beds were so comfy."

The cleanliness of the lodge was superb. Loved waking up to the chorus of animals at Tropiquaria Wildlife Park. The only slight negative within the whole stay was that the WiFi speed was really slow.

  • "We had a lovely time at Oak Lodge."

The premises are as listed and cosy. We loved the log burning stove and the view from the lodge and its well positioned near the coast road for easy access to lots of amenities along the somerset and north devon coast including Exmoor (without the road being a nusiance). The hot tub was provate and large enough to easily fit 4 people and more importantly was cleaned every day while the kids loved having TVs in the bedrooms. We had an issue while we were there due to adverse weather conditions resulting from Storm Gladys which wasn't to do with lodge accomodation and the owners helped quickly resolve this within a few minutes of letting them know of the issue. We would recommed this location to others considering statying here

  • "What a wonderful week we had."

The area is lovely - very pretty countryside. The lodge is far better than described. It's in the far corner of the park, with a huge garden to itself and feels very private. It was all immaculate and even included that holy grail of holiday home items - a cafetiere.

Such a comfortable range of sofas with a very easy to use log burner. The beds were very comfortable with gorgeous cotton linen. A TV in every room if needed! Very spacious and extremely clean. The hot tub was the icing on the cake! Well maintained daily with magnificent views across the field’s. A beautiful small private site. Just what we needed after the previous year of doom and gloom. We will definitely be back! Thank you Lloyd for being at the end of the phone if needed.

We wanted somewhere near the coast, with a hut tub and a fireplace. It was perfect driving distance from Minehead and there were loads of activities to keep us busy nearby Dunster Castle and a Steam Train going trough the country side. We will definitely be back with friends. Lloyd was very attentive too and was easily Contactable. The Gardens were well kept every day. This is a beautiful hidden gem.

The owner and lady were very welcoming and helpful. Our son is disabled with MS and every effort was made to help him cope with extra equipment in the wet room. We will certainly try to make a return journey.

  • "Oak Lodge was ideal for us as one of our guests has mobility problems and the single storey layout and the wet room were needed."

The parking for the lodge is level and right outside the front door. The lodge has been beautifully designed and built by the owners and was warm, inviting and very comfortable with lovely open views from the lounge area. Unfortunately the cold, wet week in 'flaming' June deterred us from enjoying the seating areas outside and even the hot tub could not tempt us. The approachable owner lives on site and was ever helpful.
