Super clean. Kitchen completely ready to cook in (or outdoors if preferred!). Comfy beds. Super quiet and beautiful views of stars on clear nights. Waking up to sounds of a woodpecker, followed by a run to Lanacombe Cove and back = brilliant start to the day! A perfect spot to venture as far as from Bigbury/ Ayrmer all the way to Brixham. Best coastline. Peaceful and with fabulous food everywhere. Shout out to Stokely Farm Shop tap room for amazing pizza and ale. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.

Yes, the roads are extremely narrow but what do you expect if you want peace and quiet in Devon? (And it does warn you on the listing page!) but please don’t let that put you off! We walked various walks from the bungalow (helpful information in the folder, and maps) and along the coast path. Stunning views, watched seals in places, beautiful birds and butterflies in huge numbers! A great holiday

Very peaceful location, no noise, very peaceful Devon countryside. Lovely large garden. Lovely views. Our only suggestion is reminder is placed for tenants to catch the rubbish and re-cycling collections on Wednesdays. The tenants before us missed this, and we too forgot. Although this info is contained in the excellent, lengthy guide in the cottage, inevitably we forgot re the re-cycling day. A beautifully presented accommodation, perfect for combined family holiday ... we were 4 adults and 2 youngsters - 10 and 14. Expensive? Yes, but these days you get what you pay for! Decent, caring owners.

The views of countryside and the heavens lovely, its quiet location much appreciated, it felt right, from the moment we stepped through the door. The attention to detail from the owners, e.g. their phone call on the first night shows they want you to enjoy the time there. A very good holiday

  • "Orchard Cottage was such a lovely comfortable cottage in an excellent location, apart from the little narrow roads to gain access, but after a few attempts to pass oncoming cars, it became a doddle."

The cottage was cosy and had all the items you would need for a self catering holiday. All the rooms were comfortable and the garden was well kept and looked after and a perfect place to relax and unwind after a hard days expeditions to various locations in Devon & Cornwall. There was so much to do in the area and we even ventured as far as Tintagel Castle in Cornwall which was about a two hour drive, but well worth it. Lannacome beach was within walking distance and the coastal path to Start Point lighthouse was an exceptional walk with beautiful scenery following the coast. The cottage was within easy reach of Plymouth, Dartmoor, Bodmin and many other locations, we just run out of time, but it was nice to come back to the cottage at nights. Thank you to Sarah (The owner) for keeping in touch with us and looking after us and to ensure we were very comfortable in her property. Loved the place and would love to come back again in the future.

  • "Cottage is really lovely and decorated to a very high standard."

It’s situated in a very peaceful and stunning location. The steps down to the cottage are a little awkward and steep. The lack of hand rail might be a problem for some. Also at night there is no night light on the steps, so make sure you take a torch to navigate safely to the front door from the car parking space. Some items in the cottage could be a little cleaner such as the fridge freezer but we visited at the end of the high season so I expect this will be taken care of in the down season. Other wise it’s a fabulous place to spend a week away, fantastic location near to all the fabulous beaches, walks and views that part of the world has to offer. Would stay here again.

  • "We had a fabulous week at Orchard View."

The bungalow was immaculate, very comfortable, fully equipped and felt very homely. The peace and quiet was lovely with virtually no audible traffic on the very quiet roads. Just the birdsong every morning, combine harvesters in the distance and gentle sounds of rural Devon. We felt remote from everything which was lovely. We walked or ran to the beach every day and enjoyed amazing swims from the beautiful, sheltered sandy cove. It's a very special spot and the owner could not have been more helpful.

For example the kitchen utensils are fully equipped (ok i didn't see a large fork but that was it). The smart TV is good. He provides a number of indoor games and table tennis in the garage should you want to play them. The shower in the bathroom is possibly the best i have ever used. Everything is comfortable We did have a problem with the glass window doors leading from the living room to the garden because once we opened them it took a great lot of effort to securely close them again and i think some instruction could be given to help others in the same situation. I would go back again and would recommend the bungalow to others.

The welcome pack was much appreciated. The shower room had some small issues which the owners tell me is their next project to up grade. The private, safe and not overlooked garden was a bonus with an active 7yr old. The local beach, Lanacombe is a short walk down leafy lanes, good to spend a day there or for a pleasant evening stroll. The property

In a peaceful spot in Kellaton is this private detached bungalow.

With its secluded setting and smart, light interior, this is a relaxing retreat for families or anyone seeking a tonic from a frenetic lifestyle.

Head down a few steps to the front door into your hall for discarding shoes and coats.

The sitting room is a charming, uncluttered space where you can watch TV beside the wood burner or sit quietly and gaze across lovely countryside views and spot birds and wildlife.

The kitchen is neat and well equipped for preparing meals to enjoy in the dining room down a step.

The three bedrooms are simple and comfortable for enjoying a good night’s sleep.

All around the bungalow you can stretch out, run and share barbecues on the lawn in the enclosed garden, and the children will have fun playing table tennis in the outhouse.

When you feel like exploring further afield, the beautiful sandy beach at Lannacombe is within walking distance and from there you can pick up the South West Coast Path for fabulous walking with cliff top views and a visit to the lighthouse at Start Point and the excellent pub and fish and chips café at Beesands village.

For more of a lively buzz, take the ferry from East Portlemouth to fashionable Salcombe to wander the tempting boutique shops and galleries and eat out at restaurants.

Kingsbridge is another interesting little town which also has a good choice of shops and restaurants, as well as boat trips.

And if activities are your thing, this is an excellent area for sailing, kayaking or paddleboarding around the lovely coast and estuaries.

With plenty of comfort and beautiful scenery, Orchard View is a smashing holiday home.
