  • "What a thoughtful property owner, who has gone out of their way to make your stay so comfortable and homely."

We have stayed in many cottages since Covid, and this has the same high cleaning standards as when we came out of Covid, unlike many others we have stayed in. It is so refreshing for an owner to equip you with cleaning materials to allow you to keep everything clean. We had a lovely and relaxing break and can’t wait to return.

  • "Very clean and comfortable."

Well appointed. Lovely goodies left for us in the kitchen. Close to village facilities. Couldn’t find a DVD player or any trays. Side gate didn’t keep my dog in. However, the house is beautiful, comfortable, and tastefully furnished. Thank you.

We're so pleased to hear that you enjoyed a wonderful holiday. The property is not marketed with a DVD player. Thank you for letting us know about the gate and missing trays. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "Our short break was all about location as we love the village of Beer."

The property did not disappoint being at the top of the High St & a 5 min walk to the beach. Off street parking, good central heating & a modern kitchen were all appreciated after a 7 hour drive! Thank you

Thank you for your feedback and your comments in the Visitor’s Book. We do try to meet all needs, but are keen cooks and so the kitchen is important! Property Owner

  • "This is the second time we have stayed at Belmont and we really love the property."

However we are unlikely to rebook for next year after discovering the price increase of a further £200 , making a total increase of £500 (approximately) since we stayed at Easter 2022.

The highchair Stairgate in court requested. We are missing. However made a quick phone call and the problem solved within 45 minutes. Great service. Many thanks. Welcome pack. Very welcome property warm cosy and in a fantastic location. Had a great family week leading up to Christmas.

We are delighted that you enjoyed a great family week and just apologise again for the missing items, so glad that they were soon delivered to you. • "We have been to Belmont many times."

Love it. But the massive price rise for October, £300 will preclude us from returning. Such a shame. But as for Lyme Bay Holidays, brilliant company and happy to book other properties with. We are hopefully great tenants and leave properties pristine. Could you please pass our comments on to the owners. If a reduction occurs we would love to rebook. We are very sparing on the heating

We are delighted that you have enjoyed staying at Number 5 many times and regret that rising costs, particularly energy costs, have necessitated a review of our pricing. Property Owner

  • "Our first time at both Belmont Terrace and the village of Beer."

The property was well presented, clean and tidy. The welcome pack was indeed most welcome ! The addition of a DVD player would have been appreciated. WiFi worked fine throughout. As this visit took place during the first week of October, many of the shops and businesses in the village were 'closed for the season'. Village 'top shop' had all we needed for last minute items. Fish and Chip Shop was incredibly expensive in our view and only accepts cash. Burton Bradstock was a good sandy beach. Sidmouth always good value with some decent shops. All in all, a good Autumn holiday.

Parking spaces were a bonus too. A bar b q for the outside patio area would be a lovely addition.

  • "A very nice cottage in a great location with the bonus of two car parking and a nice welcome pack, which was handy after a long journey to get there."

Overall we were very happy with the accommodation and were looking to book again for next year, until we saw the price increase which has put us off I’m afraid. As far as the property was concerned the only negative was the inability to open any windows in the front living room, which could get very hot without any ventilation.

Thank you for your feedback, we did not know the front windows had a problem and will look at that when the next handover happens to see what needs to be done to ensure they can be opened. Property Owner

About the location

BEER

Seaton 1.5 miles; Lyme Regis 9 miles; Sidmouth 9.5 miles; Exeter 25 miles.

Beer is a small picturesque fishing village on the south Devon coast near Seaton. The shingle beach is very sheltered, backed by limestone cliffs and was once fertile smuggling territory, plus contraband was hidden in nearby caves, which are now a popular tourist attraction. Beer is situated on the stretch of Devon coastline, known as the Jurassic Coast, a designated World Heritage Site, and the village offers sloping streets lined with picturesque stone houses and cottages built on many different levels of the steep valley sides. There are a good range of shops, friendly cafes, restaurants and pubs in Beer, plus just outside the village is the popular Pecorama Gardens, which are perched on the hill overlooking Lyme Bay. Pecorama boasts the Beer Heights Light Railway and indoor model railway exhibition, along with a children's play area. Beer is a unique Devon fishing village and a great place to stay.
