  • "Daisy Cottage is cosy and welcoming and has the most lovely view across Beer village from the front garden."

We came for 3 nights as a family of 5 and booked last minute as we wanted to elongate our week long holiday up the road in Lyme Regis. It was small for us with 3 older children but has everything you need, well equipped and clean and is a perfect base to explore the village and surrounding area. We loved the welcome goodies. We found the complimentary dishwasher tablets, hand soap and cleaning products all very useful. The cottage has a mixture of rustic and modern furnishings but is in keeping with its charm. It’s in a pretty row of cottages built into the hill with a little pathway leading to them from the main road which is a steep hill but a very short walk to the flat road of the village. Parking is a bit tricky but we managed to use the short stay spaces just next to the entrance pathway to load and unload our suitcases and used the car park in the village with the permit for the rest of the time. We had a lovely 3 day stay at Daisy Cottage and Beer is a well kept, peaceful and pretty fishing village that we really enjoyed visiting.

  • "We have had the most wonderful few days at Daisy Cottage - thank you."

Very highly appointed and beautiful accommodation and just the perfect location with lovely views. The only two small points I just wanted to mention were that when we arrived in the sunshine, we sat in the very pretty little garden but the sink at the side on the patio next to the bench was full of green floating slime which really spoilt the moment! If the sink was just planted up to make a feature it would be so much better. Also lastly, when we booked, I noted the elevated position in the description of the cottage but I do feel that it should mention the steepness to get to the cottage from Beer village as we were on an all ages family holiday and it was a very steep climb for my mum so I just think this would be helpful information for anyone else looking to visit. Having said all this we would love to re-visit in the future - thank you!

Thank you for the feedback, the sink was clear with fresh water and has sea shells at the bottom but sounds like it needs a clear out. We’ll sort in a few days. Apologies if the steepness of the location was quite hard for some of your family. I’ll review the listing description. Thank you again.. Property Owner

  • "For the price we paid, that lack of shampoo conditoner and body wash was very poor, and there were also a few other missing touches that you would expect, like no beach towels which was a real shame."

Also no hair dryer. Overall a nice place which is not very accessable, parking is only in a car park 10 mins walk away.

Thankyou for your feedback. There is a hair dryer behind door in second bedroom in a black bag unless someone has removed it. There is parking for 3 cars at the end of the path, 40 metres away but not long term but we do provide a pass for this in the village. Re towels and personal washing products is more likely going to be a hotel’s territory whereas this is a self-catering cottage so not to be confused. We’ll check the hair dryer situation. Thankyou . • "It was my grand daughters birthday (aged 5) and I had brought my ingredients to make a cake."

I was delighted to find the cottage kitchen had everything to make the cake including a mixer, kitchen scales and a cake tin. The cottage was close to all amenities- the only problem we had was parking. We were awarded a parking ticket at the end of our stay- even after we had sent the car registration to Lyme Cottages. But all in all- we had a wonderful in this beautiful spot- ps you may consider providing a small barbeque for out on your lovely front lawn with the spectacular view

We hope you had an enjoyable stay and birthday party for your grand daughter. Apologies about the mix-up with the parking permit. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

About the location

BEER

Seaton 1.5 miles; Lyme Regis 9 miles; Sidmouth 9.5 miles; Exeter 25 miles.

Beer is a small picturesque fishing village on the south Devon coast near Seaton. The shingle beach is very sheltered, backed by limestone cliffs and was once fertile smuggling territory, plus contraband was hidden in nearby caves, which are now a popular tourist attraction. Beer is situated on the stretch of Devon coastline, known as the Jurassic Coast, a designated World Heritage Site, and the village offers sloping streets lined with picturesque stone houses and cottages built on many different levels of the steep valley sides. There are a good range of shops, friendly cafes, restaurants and pubs in Beer, plus just outside the village is the popular Pecorama Gardens, which are perched on the hill overlooking Lyme Bay. Pecorama boasts the Beer Heights Light Railway and indoor model railway exhibition, along with a children's play area. Beer is a unique Devon fishing village and a great place to stay.
