  • "Lovely cottage within close access to village centre and beach great base for exploring the surrounding area or just spending relaxing time n Beer which is itself is a picturesque and friendly place to just chill by the beach."

Parking outside the property would be fine for a smaller car than ours but the village car park is just a short walk so not a problem would recommend buying a weeks car park permit from the council that covers lots of other car parks too. The cottage was clean and had everything you require and communication before we departed from the owner explaining everything regarding the covid measures taken was much appreciated.

Bread bin had not been cleaned, couple of plates were dirty plus some utensils. The extractor fan in the bathroom did not work. Really please with the size of the property.

  • "I chose this Cottage as it is pet friendly and I have dogs, didn’t realise until I arrived and read the information for guests that I should have only had one dog with me but I had three."

I contacted Sykes cottages and they explained to the owner my issue and they resolved the issue and I was able to stay. Syke arranged with the owner to pay extra for cleaning, I was overwhelmed as I had offered to pay more but Sykes dealt with it for me, the cottage was beautiful and perfect for me and my pampered pooches.

  • "Heathercliffe is a beautiful cottage which was big enough for six of us and our dog."

It had real homely feel and is tastefully decorated. The art, books and throws and cushions made it really cosy. The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed a bbq on our last evening in the garden. We all had a wonderful time even though the weather wasn't the best. Beer is a quaint little village by the sea. Lots of places to eat and drink and the people are so friendly. We visited Seaton Sidmouth, Lyme Regis and the wonderful Otterton Mill for a cream tea and a visit to the lovely craft shop. Really is worth a visit. Overall a lovely relaxing break. We didnt want to leave. We will definately be back. Would highly recommend Heathercliffe.

  • "Musty / drains smell coming from back room wasn't good, had to open doors for a period to get rid of the smell every time we came back to the property."

Parking is virtually non-existent, ended up paying to park in public car park down the street

The garden was beautiful and lovely neighbours added to our stay. Close proximity to the beach and high street. Great size for a party of 6 adults.

  • "Lovely house in a small village by the sea."

Short downhill walk to the main street. The house is very comfortable and has everything you need for your holiday. The decor is lovely too and the garden provides good outside space when the weather is nice. We would book the house again if we were back in that area.

About the location

BEER

Seaton 1.5 miles; Lyme Regis 9 miles; Sidmouth 9.5 miles; Exeter 25 miles.

Beer is a small picturesque fishing village on the south Devon coast near Seaton. The shingle beach is very sheltered, backed by limestone cliffs and was once fertile smuggling territory, plus contraband was hidden in nearby caves, which are now a popular tourist attraction. Beer is situated on the stretch of Devon coastline, known as the Jurassic Coast, a designated World Heritage Site, and the village offers sloping streets lined with picturesque stone houses and cottages built on many different levels of the steep valley sides. There are a good range of shops, friendly cafes, restaurants and pubs in Beer, plus just outside the village is the popular Pecorama Gardens, which are perched on the hill overlooking Lyme Bay. Pecorama boasts the Beer Heights Light Railway and indoor model railway exhibition, along with a childrens' play area. Beer is a unique Devon fishing village and a great place to stay.
