    Mr Harris

“The cottage is very well appointed and is in a delightful village especially waking up to a cow or sheep walking past the end of the road.”

Great for walks straight from the cottage onto the moors in 5 minutes, our Sprocker Spaniel absolutely loved it. Would recommend walks to Sticklepath and Tarka Trail and Belstone Tor. Driving the local area was easy and again recommend Tavistock, Chagworth (Old Forge Caffe do the best Devon Cream Tea), Fingle Bridge, Meldon reservoir and a little further afield Bude taking the dog onto the beach. Okehapton has a Waitrose for food but try Farmer Luxton's on way into town for brilliant butchers and coffee too. The Tourist Information in Okehampton are very helpful but I think the cottage owners and guests have left a number of useful leaflets on the local area. One tip I would recommend is the Hog and Hedge Cafe just of the A30 about 5 miles from the cottage, great food, coffee and dog friendly so worth popping into if you arrive early as we did as travelling from Kent. `The road from the A30 into the village is narrow but no real problem just beware of livestock and dogs walking around when you are going in and out. This is a delightful cottage in a great location for those who want to walk and even better with a dog, ours absolutely loved it!!
