  • "Second time staying, great location for the South Coast."

Lovely owners couldnt help enough. Lovely log burner, not sure who loved it more the humans or the dogs! Close to Dartmouth and plenty to do. Comfortable home with plenty of room and good sized garden for the dogs.

  • "We loved our stay at the bungalow, ideal base for anywhere in South Devon."

The home is clean and tidy, and looked after, has everything you need. There is plenty of room for everyone. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The garden is large and great for the dogs. Its situated on the edge of the village which has a pub and local shop with a post office. We are already planning on going again next year as there is so much to do in South Devon, looking forward to going back and staying at the bungalow.

Very clean, a welcome pack of essentials was provided, and there are plenty of pots and pans etc enabling us to treat it as a home from home. We hope to return!

  • "Uncomfortable sofa in living room where the sofa clearly needs replacing it’s very loud and uncomfortable to sit on."

The super king room was damp and cold the super king bed was terribly uncomfortable and sags in the middle of the mattress so clearly needs replacing. The super king room walls were mouldy which got worse as the week went on. The green room walls went mouldy by day four. Unfortunately there was dog poo left by previous holiday guests. The cottage was extremely cold on arrival no heating on arrival from a wet cold journey down. There was Lots of insects and cobwebs in every corner. Attention to detail is definitely needed. Good value for money if you are allowed the heating on would of been nice to have the heating on on arrival as it was very cold we had to turn the heating up quite high to warm the house up as it was very damp and cold in the bedrooms. Owner has control of the heating from her end which made it difficult to control the heating our end. We were contacted by the owner to ask why we had turned the heating up high. I was under the impression if you rent a property heating was included in the rent price. On arrival the rubbish bins were all full so it’s made it difficult to put our rubbish out during our stay. We were told we were not allowed the property until 3:30pm so we turned up at 3:55pm to discover the Gardner was still at the cottage which made it difficult as we needed to let the dogs out after a long journey however the Gardner was still mowing the lawn on arrival. Whilst washing up one morning the kitchen tap spout flew off and soaked myself and the kitchen luckily it was cold water. Overall a nice place space wise just needs a few updates. Also the visitor handbook needs badly updating as information is incorrect.

Thank you for the feedback. I believe the housekeeper left a message about the full bins as she had contacted the council on discovery that they were full. The gardener doesn’t have set times to arrive to cut the grass. He would have gladly turned off the mower to allow your dogs to go out in the garden had he been asked. Thank for telling me about the tap, it would have been nice to know about before the next guests went in so that this could have been addressed. I wish I had taken a screen shot of the heating readings. You had the rooms set at 30 degrees. The window sensors were also on, signifying the heating was on and the windows open .The utility which has a washing machine and fridge in it was set at 25 degrees. The external temperature was 12 degrees and the internal temperature reading was 21.5 degrees so not cold. In these days of environmental awareness and high electricity costs we would encourage people to be aware and wear appropriate clothing for the weather. There is a log burner in the cottage which heats the whole house if you light it and open the room doors. Regarding the sofa and bed, we will look it over the winter closure, as well as updating the visitor handbook. However you actually had the super king sized bed split into two singles. • "We spent a lovely week at Hedgerow and the property contained everything we could want on an holiday and more ."

As mentioned by previous holiday makers there are a few issues. One of the couches in the living room is extremely uncomfortable and noisy. The super king size mattress requires replacing as it also is extremely uncomfortable and sags in the middle and the toilet seat moves alarmingly when sat on! Having said that, Hedgerow is a lovely cottage with a beautiful garden in a great location.

The super king sized bed is a zip link bed that is joined in the middle, there is no sag but does feel different to a normal super king size bed. Property Owner

  • "I had a lovely stay, in a beautiful area and the property is perfect for the holidaymaker."

The garden is delightful but needs re-securing in the bottom corner as there is a gap in hedging of approximately 2-3 feet, which any dog can get through. Also, the instruction manual at the property needs updating. However, this is a delightful place to stay, nice and quiet , comfortable and well placed for enjoyment of the local areas which are stunning. I would recommend it to anyone and we have already rebooked another stay.

  • "An amazing stay in a wonderful house - perfect size for our family of 4 and a dog plus my parents who joined us on this trip."

We knew the area, as stayed in a cottage in nearby village last year, also found via Sykes, and fell in love with it - a gorgeous town of Dartmouth, beautiful Salcombe, picturesque villages, Avon Garden Centre, all the nearby beaches... This year we were looking for a bigger house in the vicinity to bring in the parents as well. Were really happy to find this big, clean and tastefully done house, a real treasure! What we did not expect is such a gorgeous secluded garden with interesting corners and turns and a spectacular apple tree! plenty of space for the kids and the do to run around and for more mature members of the party to sit on the outside deck with a drink and soak in the summer days/evenings... All in all - a perfect week away. Thanks a lot to the host who made it possible!
