  • "We had a great week in this lovely cottage and really appreciated the welcome card and cream tea provided as well as having the log burner set and ready for us to use."

The cottage caters for all age groups and was much enjoyed by us all especially the hot tub and games room. The cottage had everything we needed, the only thing it could do with is a large clothes airer or tumble drier to cater for those muddy clothes on rainy days when washing can’t be dried outside. That aside, we would definitely recommend Whincroft to others and would love to return at some point

We went out on lots of lovely walks directly from the cottage. The kids loved the games room and garden. Plenty of facilities to cook but also two lovely local pubs in walking distance.

The owners have lovingly kept the charm and character of the cottage, and everything you could possibly need was provided for. Dog friendly with the most beautiful gardens , tranquil and peaceful . A driveway with easy access into the rear of the property was very useful giving access straight into the kitchen which is a warm cosy retreat with a beautiful aga and plenty of space .

  • "We had a fantastic holiday in this beautiful cottage."

It was very comfortable clean and with a touch a luxury. We all enjoyed the hot tub and magical garden. Only complaint we had was that we believed we were booking through 'Helpful Holidays ' (who we always booked holidays with) but were directed to Sykes. Very disappointed.

  • "I'm trying not to let the fact that it rained heavily every day influence my comments."

The garden was designed imaginatively, set into the hillside, with lots of interesting corners to sit if the weather had been kinder. As others have mentioned the cottage is beautifully decorated and has everything you could need to make your stay delightful, relaxing and enjoyable. The area is breath-taking so there are great places nearby to explore. Thank you very much.

  • "The cottage and gardens are really beautiful; characterful spacious comfortable peaceful and in such a pretty location."

The kitchen and utility are really well equipped, the house is tastefully furnished and as for the comfortable beds... There's a lovely friendly pub at the top of the road with a great garden with views and another pub within a 20 minute walk along the stream and country footpaths. I can't speak highly enough of this property and, as a family of 5 adults, we had a truly relaxing, fun stay.

  • "The cottage is everything you want from a family home never mind a weeks holiday home."

Extremely well equipped, warm, cosy and proper Aga to cook on. The location is perfect. Literally a five minute walk to the beautiful countryside and within walking distance of two great pubs. The Mary Tavy Inn was one of the most welcoming pubs we've been in. The locals were so friendly and we learnt a lot about the local history. Thank you to Myles and Emma for being fantastic helpful hosts. A fantastic week break that will be repeated next year.
