  • "My review is two fold."

The caravan was faultless, spacious, clean, well equipped, well positioned at the end of a quiet row, parking directly outside, totally secure for our dog, who loved popping in and out. However, bay view it wasn't, unless you stood on tip toes to see over the shrubbery which was a shame as I would have loved sitting on the patio and watching the sea of an evening. The main reason for booking here was direct access to the beach, closure of the access permanently was a huge disappointment and I would say the biggest down side, would we come back yes if beach access was sorted out and the shrubbery cut down.

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately the wet weather Britain has had this year eroded the cliff side causing the steps to collap se (site are endeavouring to rectify) Sykes were informed as soon as I knew and advert amended accordingly. There is however beach access 5 mins in either direct by car. We are not allowed to cut the shrubbery due to the drop from the decking. Regards Property Owner

About the location

WEST QUANTOXHEAD

Watchet 4.5 miles; Taunton 16 miles.

West Quantoxhead is a small village on the edge of the Quantock Hills in West Somerset, and is a mile from the small sandy beach of St Audries. The bay is the sandiest around here and has something for everyone including rock pools, a waterfall and a chance to find some 200 million year old fossils. The Quantock countryside is among the finest in England and was the first to be awarded the national status of Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and Quantock Common is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The hills provide almost 50 square miles of open heathland, woodland, small villages and farmland, with some beautiful countryside for walking, horse riding and bird watching. There are also well-known walking routes passing virtually through West Quantoxhead village including the Coleridge Way, Macmillan Way and Somerset Coastal Path. Within a short drive of West Quantoxhead are Dunster Castle, West Somerset Railway, Hestercombe House and Gardens, Clarke's Retail Village, Glastonbury Abbey, Wells Cathedral, Cheddar Gorge and Exmoor.
