  • "Beautiful spot, immersed in nature and so good for the soul."

We were lucky with the weather and that breeze was so welcome after the heavy heat at home. Really comfy bed and being able to look out at the trees was just perfect. Had everything we needed. Have been in a different lodge previous but would really like to come back to this one..was sad to leave but will return.

Thank you so much Catherine. We are so happy you felt your stay was good for the soul, that is truly music to our ears. Very glad to hear you will return and we look forward to welcoming you. Kind regards, Gemma - Charteroak Guest Services. Property Owner

  • "Absolutely loved our short break."

It was so peaceful with nothing but birdsong. The lodge was immaculately clean and had everything to make it comfortable, including an abundance of crockery, cutlery and cooking items- often irritatingly lacking in holiday homes but not at 1 Millers Island. The dogs loved sitting on the deck watching the ducks and I can imagine in bright sunshine it would be a challenge to get them to come indoors! The only thing missing was Bin bags which I didn't realise wouldn't be there, so didn't come prepared, but we made do with carrier bags, so that wasn't a drama. Thanks so much for a fabulous and much needed break. We will definitely be coming back.

Thanks so much for such a lovely review Chloe! We are so pleased you loved your stay and the lovely Millers Island 1. It is a wonderful spot to watch the beauty of nature right on your doorstep in total peace and tranquillity. There are 2 bin bags usually in the housekeeping pack on arrival - I am sorry you didn't have those. We will feed this back. We are glad to hear you will return and hope you will visit again soon. 1 Miller's Island is our favourite lodge so far! Very peaceful and private with no passing walkway and a balcony over the lake. A well equipped lodge, comfy bed and nice outdoor furniture. We will be back!

  • "We have stayed at Stonerush Lakes on several occasions but this is the first time in No1 Millers Island and we absolutely loved it."

The Lodge was perfect for our needs and to a very high standard with everything provided for a great holiday. We enjoyed the view over the lake and were visited daily by a heron and woodpeckers. The hottub was a bonus and used daily. The restaurant was excellent as usual with freshly cooked and locally sourced produce. Thanks to the Stonerush team for a marvellous holiday.

Dear Richard, What beautiful feedback! Thank you so much. It was lovely to hear that our resident wildlife came and said hello too. We hope you return again soon. Kind regards, Gemma - Guest Services, Charteroak. Property Owner

LANREATH

  • Pelynt 2 miles
  • Looe 5 miles
  • Polperro 6 miles

Lanreath is a village in southeast Cornwall, five miles west of Looe. Lanreath is rural in character with a local shop and Post Office as well as a parish church. There are a number of ghost stories associated with Lanreath. The best-known features a ghost in black driving a coach pulled by a headless horse. Nearby Pelynt is home to a parish church, a number of local shops and pubs, especially the Jubilee Inn, which was an original farmhouse dating back to the 16th Century. Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. Polperro is a little further away and is a historic fishing village nestling at the head of a long valley leading down to the sea. With plenty of areas to visit, Lanreath is a quiet, pleasant place offering easy access to the coast, the moors, National Trust properties and Cornwall's famous gardens.
