Thanks Lisa for taking the time to upload a review and for the lovely written one you left in our Guest Book at the property. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and loved the bungalow despite the wet weather! Property Owner

  • "The bungalow has been done to a high standard."

The main bed was extremely comfortable, never slept so well, great choice of mattress and duvet, thank you. Unfortunately there is a smell of damp in there but I think that is the style of property and it certainly didn’t spoil our stay. The kitchen is compact but has everything required and more. Great taste on plates, mugs, glasses etc and decor. Unfortunately no space for a proper table and chairs apart from outside (which isn’t great if raining) but what is there is acceptable. The bathroom is fab, enjoyed a soak and shower facilities. The back of the property is fine and has a fab view of the sea, very relaxing. The front of the property needs attention on the grass bank as it hasn’t been cut down and looks messy but you don’t spend anytime there just enter the property. We noticed on another review that someone had mentioned it wasn’t a very friendly place with residents, we would say this is a very quiet place but we spoke with 3 different residents who were very friendly and open. Overall we would love to be able to stay here again and thank Adam and Sarah for making this possible, you have definitely made the most of this property and we felt very welcome as soon as we walked in.

Hi Claire. Many thanks for your feedback . We are really pleased you had a great stay. The site owners stopped cutting the grassy bank earlier in the season as a way of encouraging natural biodiversity. I think its called rewilding. Councils across the country seem to be doing this. I agree it makes it look untidy and we may have pay to get it cut if we are allowed by the site owners. There is a small patch of damp in the main bedroom which we are going to do when the last guests of the the season have gone which will resolve this issue. Thank you for mentioning the other residents as it really is a small close- knit community. We would love for you to stay again with us in the near future. Thanks again for making the time to leave us a review- We really appreciate it. Property Owner

  • "Found the property to be very comfortable and well equipped."

All beds were comfortable (as often they aren't in holiday lets). Great kitchen, lovely large bathroom. Extra bits such as Nintendo, Netflix, hairdryer are all very useful and made the stay even better. Love the large sliding doors and beautiful sea view. The site was very quiet and we were always able to find a parking space near the property. Only gripe, mostly satisfied with the cleanliness, bathroom was sparkling but the floor wasn't very clean unfortunately, had to hoover when we arrived and it could do with being mopped inbetween lets. Would definitely stay again, owners have done a fab job with their beautiful holiday home.

Hi Lucy. We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay and really appreciate your lovely comments about the property. We're really sorry about the bathroom floor and will speak to the cleaners to ensure this doesn't get missed in the future. We're glad this didn't impact on your stay and that you would definitely stay again. Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. Property Owner

  • "Upon walking into the property we thought wow, and breathed s big sigh of relief as looking at some of the other properties behind and in the same row you could be thinking oh no!"

! The cottage has been modernised to a very high standard. The property was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The children’s room was lovely and catered for all sizes. The reading material and games for the children was a really nice touch. Instruction manuals for Tv, oven, microwave all very clear and everything easy to use. Really helpful recommendation literature re places to go and things to do in Woolacombe and towns nearby. The garden was well maintained and clean and beautiful views. My one and only complaint was in the double bedroom there was a strong damp smell, the cottage was not damp and we soon realised the curtains had obviously been washed but not dried properly, and maybe re hung whilst still damp, the curtains in the bedroom were clean but had this very strong damp smell, which you could smell as soon as you walked into the bedroom, which was a shame because the cottage is beautiful. When leaving the property my husband mentioned it to the cleaner. I would definitely stay there again if it was just myself and husband. Tranquility park is not for young children, however we used the facilities at Golden Coast which was a 2 minute drive away which cost £20 for the four of us per day. Please don’t let this comment put you off because the cottage is really lovely, close to the beach and other amenities.

Thank you for your lovely comments about your stay at the property, Deborah We're really pleased that you enjoyed your holiday and that you would definitely stay again. We've tried to make it as homely as possible with all the mod cons you would have at home. We have hopefully addressed the issue with the damp smell which we believe was down to some of the towels being stored after washing not being completely dry and we apologise for this. We would love to have you stay with us again in the future. Thanks again. Property Owner

  • "A very comfortable holiday chalet with all the mod cons."

Great view down to Woolacombe beach. It's a shame the chalet is stuck in the middle of a ram shackled estate that does not make you feel comfortable. There were some cleanliness issues such as dead wood louse on the kitchen work top and food crumbs in the cupboard above the fridge on arrival. The plates and mugs all smelt of stale water so had to wash everything before using. There was also no drying cloth available. However, generally a lovely little place.

Hi Jon. Thanks for your feedback. We're glad that you found the property a comfortable, lovely little place. I will speak to speak to the cleaning and maintenance teams to address the issues you raised. We take great pride in delivering a very good standard of accommodation. The property itself is part of a small community of 19 other bungalows- many of which are holiday lets or second homes. The handful of permanent residents have lived there for a long time and are very friendly. A few of the bungalows that were empty have recently been bought and are being refurbished like we did with Waves -I think this is what you were referring to. The area is very safe- It is Woolacombe after all! The park is being is being developed by the new owners as you can see by the very expensive homes being built there. Its a great base to explore North Devon and being on top of a hill offers great views of the sea and Lundy island. Being able to view this from the Lounge window as well as the rolling hillside is the reason we fell in love with it. Thank you for staying with us. Property Owner

  • "Waves Chalet was a very inviting accommodation as soon as you walked in through the door."

It has been renovated to the highest possible standard by its owners, who should be so proud of what they have done. It was comfortable, clean and well set out. It was equipped so well, it was like home from home, and would recommend it to anyone.

We're really pleased you found the property inviting & homely, Steven. Yes we are proud of it as a lot of hard work went into how it looks and feels. We hope you would consider stopping with us again in the future. Thank you for your comments and for staying with us. Property Owner

  • "This is a lovely property to stay in."

Decorated very tastefully with a very high spec, there are so many extra touches - lots of USB charging points, a Nintendo Switch with games, a lit bathroom mirror. It was lovely. The only suggestions I would make is a non -slip mat for the shower and instructions on how to work the heating. I would definitely recommend this property or stay in it again.

Thank you for your kind feedback Glynis We're pleased that you were happy with the property and enjoyed your stay. We will provide a non -slip mat for the bath for future guests as you suggested. We are looking to change the boiler and controls this year to make the heating much more User/Guest friendly as the existing is one we inherited with the property. We will of course provide instructions on how best to use it. We would be happy for you to stay with us again. Property Owner

  • "The property was beautifully refurbished and to a very high standard."

It had everything we needed (though we mainly didn't end up using as we were there for 2 days), including kids games, balls, a nintendo switch, DVDs etc. It was in immaculate condition. Very nice touch to leave biscuits for us on arrival (we booked a few hours before we came!). The property had nice views of the sea. It was very quiet at night. We had a very lovely stay there. It was a nice walk down and back from the beach. My only 2 points. First, it's in a holiday park, and admittedly it's in a corner of it where the bungalows are proper properties and as soon as you go into it, but I'm not sure what this is like during high season (plus the holiday park looks like a building site). Second, the outside area where you sit is literally on the main road from Woolacombe, with a constant stream of traffic. Again, we were there when it was quiet, so not sure how bad this would be in high season. Though everything is double glazed and main bedroom is at the back of the bungalow so very quiet.

Very pleased to hear you had a lovely stay Gabby. I'm glad we were able to accommodate you at short notice. Thank you for choosing us and for taking the time to leave us a review. We really appreciate it. Property Owner

A great base for walking coastal path and buses back from Braunton or to Illfracombe. Good road and track cycle routes. Also great Woolacombe beach with easy and lots of parking - or walk down on bridle way behind Chalets or through the valley- but steep back up..

Many thanks for your great feedback Vivian. We really appreciate your comments about the property and the surrounding area. Thank you for choosing Waves for your holiday. Property Owner
