  • “We enjoyed the location of the cottage and the amount we were able to do in the area with lots of places to visit and enjoyable visits to restaurants and pubs.”

We didnt spend a lot of time in the cottage as we ventured out for long days into the evening. The cottage was modern but wasnt particularly clean on arrival. There were a lot of cobwebs in different rooms with spiders and dust and dirt on the wooden floors. Inside the kitchen cupboards was also a lot of dirt and it seemed that the property was in need of a deep clean. There was also a lot of flies inside on arrival which wasn't very nice. The double bed is very much a small double and we found it very uncomfortable. My wife and I who are an average height and weight found it very hard to sleep in during the evenings. We would visit the area of North Curry/Staunton again but would choose alternative accommodation.

Enjoying a central position between the north and south coasts, the small village of North Curry rests in Somerset, just east of the county town of Taunton. Since the 13th century, North Curry has been a market village, earning wealth from hunting, fishing and the wool trade, and it is still home to several historic buildings like the Church of St Peter and St Paul, nicknamed 'The Cathedral of the Moors', now a Grade I listed building dating from the 14th century. Within the centre of the village on Queen Square you can find the Post Office and general store where you can pick up all the essentials you need, with a pub across the way providing a perfect spot to enjoy a well-earned pint on holiday. Visit Taunton for a wider selection of shops and restaurants, head north to the Quantick Hills AONB for walking routes in this unspoilt area, or south to the Blackdown Hills AONB, travel down and spend a day in Lyme Regis, 'The Pearl of Dorset' where beautiful beaches, the Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium and Dinosaurland Fossil Museum all await you on the Jurassic Coast. North Curry is a delightful place to settle for a Somerset sojourn.
