"Things that would have made our stay better
Some window coverings in the bathroom."
TVs that worked properly
Better bed in one of the double rooms, slats need attention.
Other than that lovely location and nice cottage, just needs some work to improve the quality of the interior ( mostly bathrooms )
Dear Andrew,
Thanks for your feedback which we will take a look into. We're conscious the bathrooms would benefit from improvement and it is a project in the pipeline after we prioritized significant investment into the windows last year as well as plumbing and electrics. We will check the TVs which we haven't had a problem with until now. We're glad you enjoyed your stay overall.

"Our third stay at Trelash Cottage but probably our last."
There is still a very pungent smell of damp on the ground floor and all our clean clothes had to be washed when we got home due to the pervading smell of damp. The bed in the master bedroom was broken with missing slats. No mattress protector ( very u hygenic!). Several of the pillows were very stained and had no pillow protectors. Those that did were stained yellow too. We reported this on our first night and the housekeeper came 2 days later. We reported to her the freezer was not working and we had to throw some food away we had bought the daybefore. She said she would tell her boss but nothing was done about this. Sykes did not bother to respond either! Sofa covers even more grubby than they were 3 years ago. Lots of black mold on the left wall of garden room and back wall of ground floor bathroom. Back of bathroom door was
filthy. Needs a good wash and repaint. No cleaning products or cloth to clean kitchen surfaces. Been self catering with Sykes and Helpful Holidays for 20 years and this is the only cottage which does not provide basic cleaning products.
A beautiful cottage with some lovely furniture and well equipped kitchen, but in need of some maintenace and efficient housekeeping.
Dear Mrs Perez-Bourne.
Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that you were disappointed.
To address your points:
1. We haven’t had complaints about dampness before - we are well aware that it is a risk in a 17th century cottage and continue to monitor this. The housekeepers always vent the cottage by opening doors and windows before and after each guest and will report any dampness to us.
2. The broken bed slats had been reported previously and have since been repaired. Unfortunately it was not possible to source the parts before your stay.
3. Pillows were replaced with new ones and protectors following your visit.
4. We have since checked the freezer and it is working although perhaps it could freeze quicker - we will have a technician check this.
5. General cleanliness has been addressed including the bathroom door.
6. We will supply some basic cleaning products under the kitchen sink.
Apologies that the cottage didn’t meet your expectations this time.

"This was such a lovely cottage to stay in."
My mother was visiting from the States and she absolutely loved it. It was comfortable and a nice base from which to explore that part of Cornwall.
The one thing I would suggest is to put a shade on the bathroom window on the ground floor.
Otherwise, it was a wonderful place to stay.
Dear Buffy,
We're glad you enjoyed your stay at Trelash Cottage and thank you for the feedback about the bathroom window. We hope you visit again in the future.

Not too far from lots of good places to visit but a bit of a way from a local shop. Comfortable house with lots of character features.

"What a delightful cottage for a peaceful holiday!"
As it is an old building, there are a few little steps into some of the rooms to be aware of. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and had plenty of room to prepare home-cooked meals. We were able to eat all of our meals in the charming and private garden.
There is a good-sized, safe lawn area to the front should you need more room to play.
Upstairs, the bathroom is adequate, but the downstairs one has more space. The beds were possibly the most comfortable we've ever slept in. The cottage is set in a very small hamlet in a very peaceful location. It is a drive to a local shop and pub, but ideally positioned for sightseeing the moors and coves along the North coast. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment, thank you very much to our hosts.
Dear Christine,
Thank you very much for your feedback and we’re glad you enjoyed your stay at Trelash Cottage. The cottage has traditional Cornish charm and everyone always sleeps well there! We hope you will visit again.

"We had a fabulous stay at Trelash Cottage over Christmas - a gorgeous property in a quiet hamlet that had everything we needed."
Would recommend Crackington Haven - about 15 mins by car - a lovely beach, costal walks, cafe and a pub. Also Bude, Widemouth bay and Boscatle within easy driving distance.
We hope to return!
Thanks for your kind message and positive feedback and we hope to see you back in the cottage in the near future.

"Lovely cottage in good location."
Very cosy and rustic. They have good selection of equipment so you can cater for yourself and plenty of space for 5/6 people. Location is ideal to travel especially to Boscastle, Bude, Tintagel etc.
Few cobwebs and flies on window ledges and could probably do with a lick of paint but you expect most of this from an older cottage.

"Lovely cottage."
Great place for families. In a very secluded hamlet so a car is necessary, but with a car there are beautiful beaches just a short drive away. The location is excellent but getting well stocked up is necessary as shops are few and far between the nearest large retail stores are in Bude about 15 miles away. The house itself has everything you will need and lovely outdoor space including a trampoline. Would definitely recommend.
Dear Daniel,
Thank you for your positive review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Trelash Cottage and everything the cottage and the area have to offer. The location and seclusion are hopefully part of the charm and we would love to welcome you back again in the future!
