Next stop is Dartmouth, with its historical Tudor fortress of Bayard’s Cove, the imposing Dartmouth Castle with its 15th-century tower and the Dartmouth Museum, you will be spoilt for choice for things to do!
If you have time, be sure to take a ferry over to Kingswear, where you will find the impressive Kingswear Castle and the National Trust site of Coleton Fishacre, a beautiful 1920’s property with vibrant gardens.
Further afield is Totnes, which is home to Totnes Castle which sits upon a hill which when atop, provides expansive views over the town and beyond.
There is also the Totnes Museum which is set in a restored 16th-century merchant’s house, where you can learn more about the town’s cultural history.
