  • "We really enjoyed our stay and the facilities on site were excellent."

The outdoor pool was kept at a lovely temperature and the tennis court well kept. The grounds were well maintained and it is a beautiful setting. The snooker room is a great addition. Overall the cottage was lovely with a very good selection of kitchen utensils and enough seating for the four of us. The beds were very comfortable. Our sat nav didn’t find the location so I would say definitely follow the written directions so you don’t end up horribly lost like we did. Once you gather your bearings the roads are fine, and we had some lovely days out. A couple of side notes, The extractor fan in the kitchen makes a high pitched noise so does need looking at, and adding an extractor fan in the bathroom would be useful as the window is in awkward place to open, and we found when we used the shower it added a dampness ti the cottage. Overall we would happily recommend the cottage and had a great time there.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay and found Sheplegh as enchanting as we do. Many thanks for your constructive comments which we take on board. Property Owner

  • "The only minor problem was the shower."

Firstly it was very feeble, with the water coming out slowly and secondly its height. I am under 5' 10" but had to bend down a little to get under the shower head when washing my hair.

Sorry you had a problem with the shower. As shown in the details it is only a shower off the bath and therefore we do appreciate that there are limitations. There are more substantial showers in the leisure area. We had improved the flow after earlier comments but will consider what further improvements we can make. Property Owner

  • "We were very happy with our stay and would consider returning."

However, it would be useful for the owner to be aware of: Windowsills & handles were covered in cobwebs. Shower head had NO pressure, So you can’t really use it and totally impractical to wash your hair. Bathroom wash basin drained VERY SLOWLY. There could be a sunshade offered on the patio as it is very hot and sunny in the morning and cold inside the cottage. Cupboards smelt quite musty.

Thanks for the feedback. We will discuss the cobweb issue with our cleaner. We have plans to improve the water pressure to the shower, but unfortunately won’t be able to do this until the end of the season. The partly blocked hand basin has been cleared and now drains normally. Thanks for bringing it to our attention, we only found it the week following your visit as we were using the property ourselves. At that time we also thought a sunshade would be good and are looking for a suitable one which will be in place for next season or earlier if possible. Hope you can visit again. Property Owner

  • "Spring Cottage was lovely and cosy and so clean when we arrived."

It was well stocked with crockery etc... The only tiny downside is that as the weather changed and it rained more, the cottage became a little bit damp and the wardrobes had a slightly musty smell. This didn't change the fact that we had a wonderful holiday.

Thank you for your feedback. We are thrilled to hear you found our property lovely and cosy, however we were very concerned to read that the wardrobe smelt damp. We have investigated on several occasions and in different weather conditions, including when left empty for some time in the wet and cold, but neither the wardrobes nor the house in general have smelt of any damp. We can only conclude that perhaps something wet was left in the wardrobe. We do hope you had a great holiday and enjoyed all the area has to offer. Property Owner

  • "We loved the peaceful location of the cottage but still within easy reach of so many places of interest."

The indoor and outdoor pools were a huge bonus too. The cottage was spotless and we would highly recommend.
