The owners are a couple of doors down and helped immediately when we advised the microwave had stopped working. Lydford is a lovely village also with the Castle Inn situated in the village and the Dartmoor Inn just up the road. The only reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 was the terrible weather we had!!

Our dog enjoyed close by walks and the garden, although not totally dog secure so needed to be on a lead. Lydford gorge in walking distance was a bonus. Tavistock and Okehampton are easily to get to with local buses. Excellent dog friendly pubs nearby, the Castle Inn just down the road serves excellent food. The owners were very friendly and helpful and dealt with a minor problem with one of the taps instantly. We would have no hesitation in recommending a stay at Clearview. Steve & Angie London

What lovely feedback, thank you so much for your comments and I’m so glad you enjoyed Clearview and the village too. You were here for a few weeks and fortunately the weather was reasonable so you were able to get out and about and visit many of our local attractions including our own wonderful pub. Yes, I take on board your comments regarding the security of the garden and I’m glad you kept your dogs safe. Maybe we can find a way to make the garden more dog friendly?? Anyway, thank you for leaving the property spotlessly clean and tidy, we really appreciate that. Hope to see you again sometime. Pip and Hugh. Property Owner

Everything was spotlessly clean. Very friendly owners made us feel extremely welcome with basket of goodies and came to check that we had everything that we needed. We had 3 dogs and that was no issue, most cottages only accept 2. Sadly, it was my old lab's last week before passing but he had a fabulous week at Clearview and we have very happy memories.

Thank you for your lovely comments. It was so nice to have you staying at Clearview and thank goodness the weather was good and you could visit so many of the beautiful places around here. Glad the dogs enjoyed their holiday too, but somewhat sad to hear the news about your lab. So sorry for that. Anyway, do hope to see you again sometime if you travel this way again. Property Owner

The garden area is a wonderful place to relax, with seating in several locations along with a garden room. Lots of games and a 'wendy' house for the children as well. And, the location couldn't be better for visiting Dartmoor, and the pub is 200m down the road! The hosts are very friendly and accommodating, and there are numerous walks within easy reach. Highly recommended.

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback. It’s so good to know that you enjoyed the cottage and the village and pub too, it really does mean a lot to us. • "Brilliant location and friendly village."

The cottage was perfect. Whilst pets were allowed they were restricted from certain areas of the cottage and the garden was not as secure as we would have liked.

Thanks for your feedback and glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes, we do ask that dogs are kept to the downstairs if possible. We don’t ask for the usual £20 per dog cleaning fee and therefore feel it is reasonable to help keep our cleaning time down so we can let guests in at a reasonable time of 3pm. I agree, the garden is not secure for dogs and we don’t advertise it as being secure. However we love dogs and having them here to stay. Perhaps we should make it very clear in our advert with Sykes to make people aware. I do hope we will see you again sometime. Property Owner
