The property

This cottage is one of a courtyard of cottages around a thatched pump house on an old Georgian estate farm in countryside a mile from Uffculme.

Friendly and comfortable, the cottage provides handy accommodation for couples or families.

Step up to your porch into the big entrance hall.

Off this is the sitting room with cosy wood burning stove and TV, and a smart kitchen for cooking and enjoying meals, with its door to a big private courtyard where you can sit out and enjoy meals on a sunny day.

The two upstairs bedrooms are peaceful and relaxing, with good views from the double.

For quiet time, settle down in the little reading room, which can also provide a handy space for a cot.

The big bathroom with its choice of bath or shower is a great place for a leisurely soak.

Outside you have a sunny terrace at the front, surrounded by a low wall and with another table and chairs.

This is brilliant walking country, with the Blackdown Hills to explore.

Why not get on your bike or a horse, since it’s great for riding and cycling too?

Within the village are a couple of pubs, a shop, tennis courts and a fascinating woollen mill museum, or it’s easy to head further afield from this heart-of-the-West Country location.

The village is on a bus route and the railway station is just a few miles away, so you don't even need the car.

The M5 is a couple of miles away if you do want to drive.

Diggerland is fun for all ages and Tiverton offers horse-drawn barge trips.

Cullompton is a big town with a popular farmers’ market.

Pipkin Cottage is a smashing base for exploring the West Country or enjoying the character of the cottage.
