The property

This semi detached house is situated on the edge of Brixham, a five minute stroll from Fishcombe Cove and café.

With plenty of simple comfort, this lovingly cared-for 1920s house is a homely place for families in an interesting area.

The step up into the porch leads you through to the hall, complete with original stained glass doors, and then to the sitting room, a relaxing space for watching TV or gazing out of the bay window.

The kitchen is a good size with a table for breakfast.

Meals can be enjoyed in the dining room, together with musical accompaniment from the piano.

For chilling out, sink into the armchairs in the garden room with its garden views and access to the patio.

Take the stairs up to the three bedrooms, with pretty views of the coast from the front rooms and a view over the garden to the town from the double at the back.

Outside is equally relaxing, with a little garden to the front and a bigger enclosed lawn garden at the back where you can sit back under the peach tree, light up the barbecue on one of the two patios, or even pick herbs and fruit when they are ripe.

Take the children to play in the public play park, about 200 yards away, or join the South West Coast Path in about four minutes for a scenic walk in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to Broadsands sandy beach.

Buses head regularly into town with its boat trips, fish market, restaurants and shops, and further afield to Exeter and Torbay.

Take the ferry to Torbay or Dartmouth, or visit National Trust Greenway or Coleton Fishacre.

There’s so much to see and do around Danecroft.

About the location

BRIXHAM

Dartmouth 5 miles; Paignton 6 miles; Torquay 8 miles.

Brixham is a working fishing harbour located on the southern side of Torbay, the area known as The English Riviera, famed for its sunny mild climate all year round. The focal point of the harbour is a life size replica of The Golden Hind, Sir Francis Drake’s ship. The prettiest part of Brixham has small cottages in hilly narrow winding lanes leading to the harbour where all the activity is centred. Home to Britain’s largest fishing fleet which regularly lands their catch in the harbour, Brixham fish market sells to major restaurants in the UK. Brixham is the ideal destination for a traditional holiday with many family attractions around Torbay including two Blue Flag beaches, Paignton Zoo and many regattas and maritime events throughout the year. There are a host of safe cycle trails in the area, the South West Coastal Path and some of the best golf courses in the region. A good mix of relaxation or action, to suit all ages, where you are never far from the sea.
