  • "A lovely property, in a super spot right on the coast path."

Ideal for a couple and well equipped for a comfortable stay. Even in February the property was nice and cosy.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. I’m delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Egret, as my first guests of 2024. It is in a perfect location, right on the coastal footpath, if you enjoy walking. Property Owner

  • "A delightful apartment, beautifully clean and well equipped, in a pleasant gated development just a short walk from Brixham."

A great location for exploring the delights of the Devon coast. The only problem was the presence of feather cushions, (like many, I am seriously allergic), so had a couple of uncomfortable days until these were removed. All in all, a great holiday, and would love to return in the future.

Thank you for your feedback and the positive comments about Egret and the location. I have taken on board your comments on the feather cushions and, I will have them replaced when the property is redecorated at the end of this month. I hope you will return in the future. Property Owner

Kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans and gadgets so we could cook in if we wanted. Lots of leaflets for local takeaways. Informative information folder. Good parking. Great base for either a walking holiday as lots of walks close by. Numerous places to visit in Devon/Cornwall. We would visit again.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. I’m delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Egret. It is a great location for walking, especially being next to the coastal footpath. I hope you will visit again. Property Owner

  • "One of the best places me and my partner have stayed at, clean and well managed, in fact a place I'd like as my home, the one and only drawback to us was, because my wife suffers a mobility problem, we could have done with the car space being closer to the property, in fact it was the worst space possible, in a corner difficult to drive into, even though there were cars parked each side of the property we were in, but otherwise, well done everyone for making it a great holiday."

Thank you for the lovely feedback. I’m so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Egret. I hope you will stay again? The car parking spaces are allocated to each property and the ones near Egret belong to other apartments, I inherited the corner space. If you do visit again, one of the visitors’ spaces might be easier. Property Owner

The bedroom window you couldn't see out for cobwebs we ended up cleaning it as we wanted the window open. Overall it was a great place to lay your head. It had everything you needed although I never cooked once! Great location.

Thank you for your feedback, I will definitely pass this on to my cleaners, the last thing you should be doing on holiday is housework. I’m really pleased to see you didn’t do any cooking, with so many great restaurants in the area, you don’t need to. I hope you will return. Property Owner

  • "Everything you would need for a couples getaway provided."

Great location for travelling around Torbay area and beyond. Unfortunately the entertainment from the neighbouring holiday park was rather loud every night which could be something to bare in mind if you are looking to make the most of your time away with early mornings. Otherwise, would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area and will definitely be back.

Thank you for your lovely feedback about Egret. It is a great area to use as a base for travels around Torbay. I am sorry that the entertainment on the neighbouring site was noisy, it’s usually quieter outside of the school holidays. I truly hope it won’t put you off returning. Property Owner

  • "The bungalow had everything necessary for the vacation stay in a small area."

Washing machine and dishwasher were easy to use. Unfortunately there was no radio. The toilet paper holder was still loose despite the evaluation notes in advance. The freezer compartment of the fridge was not defrosted so there was hardly any space for frozen goods. Unfortunately there was no open sea view when sitting on the small terrace. The other bungalows were in front of it. The parasol and chairs seen in the photos fell victim to a storm. There are 2 wicker chairs and a shelf available for this purpose. The bungalow is in close proximity to parking lots. There was a bit of noise associated with the arrival and departure of cars in the morning hours. There wasn't much storage space for luggage. We were able to put our 2 suitcases in a small closet-like recessed wall in the bedroom. On the day of departure you have to leave the bungalow by 9 a.m. 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. would have been nicer. The couch is not in the middle of the room as you can see in the pictures, but on the left on the wall and next to it is the dining table. This also seems better for the division in the room. The holiday was otherwise very nice in this tranquil place, especially since you had the opportunity to walk directly to Brixham within about 20 minutes.

  • "Lovely position, very easy walk into Brixham."

Accommodation very well equipped. Only slight issue was a smell of drains in the toilet, came and went but quite strong at times. Would definitely stay there again

I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Egret and I hope you will visit again. The drainy smell seems to be linked to when the wind is coming from the North East, which is why it comes and goes. To be absolutely sure there isn't an underlying issue, I have asked for it to be checked out at the next changeover. Property Owner

  • "Egret is an ideal size for 2 people , we did notice a couple of places where the paintwork on the walls could do with a touch up and the top of one of the set of drawers in the bedroom could do with refreshing ( IMO ) , very quiet at night which was nice."

The only real fault I can find and it's not really to do with the property itself is that if you have any mobility issues it may not be ideal as there is a steep upward hill up to the road if you want to walk into Brixham that way and there is quite a steep climb down if you would prefer to go the coastal path way but either way I would definitely recommend getting taxis back as its to much to walk , there isn't a great deal to do in the area where egret is so you will need to go into Brixham most days to either spend it there or to commute to other places if your like me and don't want to be driving everywhere but all in all we enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for your feedback. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay at Egret. I have made a note of the paintwork and the set of drawers and will add this to the end of season maintenance. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely time however …."

.The outdoor heated swimming pool was closed… we were looking forward to that . The bathroom and sometimes the bedroom smelt of blocked drains and when we went to use the hoover it was full and needed emptying. Obviously we would have liked to have known about the pool before we booked … can you please respond to us … thank you

Hello Paul I appreciate you taking the time to feedback. Sorry to hear that you did not realise the pool would be closed. It is mentioned in the property details as “use of a heated outdoor swimming pool during the season” it’s open from May to October. I am checking with the site Caretaker to make sure there isn’t an issue with the drainage on site. My apologies for the vacuum cleaner being full, that is annoying when you are on holiday and I will follow up to make sure it is checked at each changeover. My phone number is in the property information folder and I would have tried to resolve the two latter issues for you, had I known about them, last week. I hope they didn’t spoil your stay too much and, perhaps, you will come back again, to use the pool in the summer? Property Owner

Fridge was very loud, especially at night. It was a good base to stay and go out from, which we did every day. Lovely walk into Brixham through the Battery Gardens and lots to do and see around there too. About the location

BRIXHAM

Dartmouth 5 miles; Paignton 6 miles; Torquay 8 miles.

Brixham is a working fishing harbour located on the southern side of Torbay, the area known as The English Riviera, famed for its sunny mild climate all year round. The focal point of the harbour is a life size replica of The Golden Hind, Sir Francis Drake’s ship. The prettiest part of Brixham has small cottages in hilly narrow winding lanes leading to the harbour where all the activity is centred. Home to Britain’s largest fishing fleet which regularly lands their catch in the harbour, Brixham fish market sells to major restaurants in the UK. Brixham is the ideal destination for a traditional holiday with many family attractions around Torbay including two Blue Flag beaches, Paignton Zoo and many regattas and maritime events throughout the year. There are a host of safe cycle trails in the area, the South West Coastal Path and some of the best golf courses in the region. A good mix of relaxation or action, to suit all ages, where you are never far from the sea.
