“Garage really useful if you don't want to use your car every day, but be aware that you do need a second person to guide you in/out as the road is very narrow and well used.”

The property

A cosy, semi-detached cottage, situated in the attractive Devon fishing town of Brixham.

Ideal for a traditional seaside holiday, with many sandy beaches close by, this cottage caters for a family of four, two couples or friends, looking for an escape to the English Riviera.

Step inside to find a homely interior brought together by a lovely coastal theme, scattered across bright and airy spaces.

An electric fire uplifts the sitting room, whilst the dining room houses a woodburner within the inglenook, providing warmth throughout the cottage, to supplement the central heating.

The small kitchen is well-equipped and leads out into the walled courtyard garden, a sun spot for dining with a view.

There are two double bedrooms plus a ground floor bathroom.

The busy harbour of this popular fishing town is a fifteen-minute walk, where you will find plenty of cafes, restaurants serving the catch of the day plus pubs and shops galore.

A short walk along the coastal path leads to a medley of pretty beaches and coves, as well as the ever-popular seawater swimming pool at Shoalstone.

Take the ferry to Dartmouth, which has a good reputation for fashionable restaurants, interesting boutiques and of course, all the amusement and activity along the waterfront.

Why not book a boat trip and cruise up the River Dart to Greenway, Agatha Christie’s former holiday home, and spend the afternoon in the lively market town of Totnes?

This lovely Brixham cottage is a wonderful space in which to while away a relaxing week on the English Riviera.

About the location

Dartmouth 5 miles; Paignton 6 miles; Torquay 8 miles.

Brixham is a working fishing harbour located on the southern side of Torbay, the area known as The English Riviera, famed for its sunny mild climate all year round. The focal point of the harbour is a life size replica of The Golden Hind, Sir Francis Drake’s ship. The prettiest part of Brixham has small cottages in hilly narrow winding lanes leading to the harbour where all the activity is centred. Home to Britain’s largest fishing fleet which regularly lands their catch in the harbour, Brixham fish market sells to major restaurants in the UK. Brixham is the ideal destination for a traditional holiday with many family attractions around Torbay including two Blue Flag beaches, Paignton Zoo and many regattas and maritime events throughout the year. There are a host of safe cycle trails in the area, the South West Coastal Path and some of the best golf courses in the region. A good mix of relaxation or action, to suit all ages, where you are never far from the sea.
