  • "Love the location have stayed here many times and it is always so clean and well kept love the fact that it has a full sized bath."

  • "The positives - the heating was on when we arrived so the apartment felt warm."

The goody bag was a nice touch as after a 4 hour drive we welcomed a cuppa, so the teabags, milk and biscuits provided was welcomed. The shower is great, very powerful and lots of hot water. The bed is comfy. Dogs are permitted. The negatives - Overwhelming smell of damp. Mold growing on the straps of the fire blanket. Sofa bed very uncomfortable, ended up sitting on the floor. Bedroom wall runs with condensation which meant if you brushed against the wall paint came off on clothing. Most of the sockets don't work. Rust on dishwasher and door lock. Noise of people upstairs could be heard if they were walking about, using the washing machine etc. Holiday website mentions a garden - this is not the case, the outside space is a carpark. Was not advised that there would be scaffolding around the property or that they would be arriving early to dismantle this. No mention that there the road to the property would be blocked off due to maintenance work. No mention that the property is next to a cinema and patrons have to walk passed the windows and front door to use the cinema toilets. The property is very much in need of some TLC as very tired looking, plaster coming of the walls, moldy and damp. Sad to say that we will not be booking this accommodation again. Have taken photos of comments mentioned if you wish to view these. Felt that we were over charged for the condition of the accommodation.

We are sorry to hear of your experience. The owner has now completed some external maintenance to the gulley as well as some internal updates to the electrics. The marketing mentions that there is a small patio area with a garden bench, so apologies if this was misinterpreted. We will contact you directly to obtain the photos and discuss your concerns further. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "Radium is a mixed bag !"

Firstly the good stuff : it's centrally located in the town, has parking outside the door (a rarity in Lyme), has a great shower and provides plenty of hot water. And as rental properties go in Lyme, it is one of the less expensive. Now the not so good : it's damp and you can smell this as you walk through the door. It's also chilly. We attempted several times to navigate the instructions on the thermostat, but failed to get the heating to come on. There is no Wifi ! And rightly or wrongly, it's an essential part of life for most people. It's not difficult or costly to provide ! The sofa bed is ok for one person, but sags towards the middle. To be honest, Radium badly needs some TLC. All in all, we enjoyed our weekend, making the most of wonderful Lyme and everything it has to offer, but sadly, we won't be coming back to Radium. Juliet

  • "Had a holiday in Radium from 16 to 23 Sept."

Very clean apartment but the smell of damp was overwhelming. Plaster coming off wall under radiator in bedroom. Rugs felt damp and the sofa in the lounge was hard and uncomfortable. The overall look of the building was very tired, needs painting. Grass growing out gutters. Damaged car going through entrance, very narrow. Would not return.

Thank you for your comments regarding the apartment. Our Housekeeping Team will look into the points raised and discuss with the owner accordingly. We hope that you enjoyed your time in Lyme Regis. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

Unfortunately when laying in bed you can hear all that goes on in the bathroom above. I would not stay here again.

  • "This property is excellently located but the parking space should not be listed as one unless you have a very small car."

It does not clearly stipulate this on the website and we ended up paying for parking at £15 each day. Luckily we knew Lyme Regis before staying here and had the benefit to know that the car parks are safe. I would not stay at Radium again. It looks tired and in need of some TLC. There are toilets to a local cinema, adjacent to the front door so there are constantly people walking past the windows or stood outside the property. The sofa and living space are not comfortable. The welcome pack of goodies was a nice touch, however. The bed was comfy and shower worked well. The kitchen was well stocked with good facilities. It works as a base but that is it.

  • "As we have used this property several times, it did seem this time to be damp, distinct smell of damp when we returned each day, and rugs were still damp from the cleaning I suspect."

We did resort to putting theheating on somedays, everything was provided as stated, the only problem we had was not be able to see the t emperature on the oven! and the outside was very tatty!!!

We're sorry to hear that you had some issues during your stay. We have arranged for our housekeeping team to attend and have passed on your comments regarding the exterior to the owner. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "The best asset about the property, is the location."

I only used my car five times in the two weeks we were there. Everything was just around the corner, my only criticism, is the parking. Very tight through the archway, if you have a large vehicle, not sure you would get through. The property itself, has all you need, comfortable, easy to chill out in the evenings. We liked it, and are considering staying again.

  • "Property was great as usual no problems at all however I really think you need to warn people how narrow the entrance is going in In spite of my efforts to get through it was too narrow damage caused to car and expensive car parking in lyme."

I'm sorry to hear that you had difficulties driving your car through the archway to reach the parking space. We do state on the website the width of the narrow passageway and advise care when driving through. Property Owner

  • "The location of the accommodation is the absolute best thing it has going for it."

If you have mobility issues - in our case a pushchair, having somewhere half way up the high street is ideal. Unfortunately for an actual place to stay the flat was lacking. We had to get it cleaned by the holiday company, it was filthy underfoot and had dogs hair where we were allowing our toddler to roam. The bed was hard we joked it was like sleeping on a breeze block. The sofa was not much better, no cushions, no comfort. The holiday accommodation was functional but it was not comfortable. Unfortunately, even with it listing as with a child, the noise from the bedroom being right by the stairs to the flats above who also had children/dogs meant we were often disturbed at night. We were disappointed at the lack of wheelie bin recycling - unheard of and unnecessary in 2023. We loved the Tripp Trapp high chair and bought one when we returned home! We bought a bedrail with us due to the listing suggesting it was a child's bed but actually it was a cot. The cot had no bedding even though the booking clearly stated the age of the child. I've been staying in Lyme since the mid-90s and have stayed in 3 star accommodation before. It was disappointing to spend £100 a night on a uncomfortable holiday home that was rated 3 star when I've stayed in 3 star before that did not feel the last time it was invested in or properly cared for was twenty years ago.

We're sorry to hear that the property didn't quite meet your expectations and will send our team to take a look at some of the issues highlighted. It has received an independent property grading assessment this year where it was rated as 3 tick. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "Ideal location, a few minutes walk from cafes, shops, beach, pubs and bus stops."

Parking, as is described is incredibly tight to navigate. There are lots of car parks within a few minutes walk which we used as an alternative after our first attempt on the narrow passageway. The property smells musty in the living/bedroom and has a strong drains smell in the bathroom which is a shame as the property is otherwise ideal.

Thank You for your feedback. We are sorry you experienced some smells. I understand that the maintenance team have checked the property and any issues have been resolved. Kind regards Property Owner
