Probably the hottest week of the year the old dairy was cool, and so was the pool. Very welcoming.

"Lovely little cottage, beautiful garden area and very clean."
Really very comfortable. The garden is shared with the owners and other people staying so didnt feel like we had any privacy.as such. The pool was lovely but very cold and restricted times, you have to walk past the owners house to get to it.. The first night we saw a small dear at the pond which was lovely to see, the owners dogs bark quite a lot and the road in and out was very narrow and overgrown.
I'm sorry that you were not happy in retrospect and didn't feel comfortable in the garden. It has lots of sitting areas and large shrubs so one can lose oneself! The pool was 27 to 28 degrees and is open 9am to 7pm; the other guests staying at the time are not swimmers. We do say in our welcome guide that if they wish to swim at other times, please ask. Thank you for the lovely review in the feedback book at the property. Property Owner

Phillipa was very friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us.
The swimming pool was brilliant. We loved that the telephone box was the shower!
The garden was stunning and our little boy and dog particularly loved running up and down the grounds and the tree swing.
We would definitely recommend this place to others and would love to stay again.

"We had a great holiday in The Old Dairy."
It had everything we needed and though access roads to the cottage were not brilliant, we were able to visit both the North Devon Coast and down into beautiful Dartmoor. Our hosts , Phillipa and Peter were so helpful, and the use of the swimming pool, set in such gorgeous surroundings, was the icing on the
cake. We definitely recommend this property.

The cottage was spotless everything you needed home from home.
Very peaceful location ideal for what we wanted. The added bonus of having a swimming pool after we had been out all day touring the area was great we made the most of it everyday in the evening. The WiFi was a bit hit and miss at times but that didn’t bother us at all. Great cottage for touring the local attractions.

Our grandson loved the pool because it was quiet. We arranged times to go in with the other holiday makers there so we actually had our time on our own in the pool. The surroundings were beautiful and the owners were so friendly and helpful. The cottage was comfortable and had all we needed. So if you like a quiet relaxing holiday this is ideal. "Really enjoyed our week at this property."
The facilities are excellent and there is plenty to do in Devon with Dartmoor close by and the coast 45-60 minutes away. The property was comfortable and had everything we needed including fresh eggs from the hens every morning! Only one slight gripe was around the cleanliness as there were a number of fly's and the property smelt strongly of dogs. A tiny issue in an otherwise fantastic location and a brilliant week for us.

"Phillipa and Peter were on hand and incredibly helpful without intruding."
The dog was able to be off lead and explore without distractions and she loved it. The bed was amazingly comfortable and we were also pleasantly surprised to find a slow cooker in the cupboard which is a favourite of mine. Nice and quiet, and everything we needed for a nice get away. We’d definitely visit again!

"The host Mrs Caplan was such a lovely woman."
We were welcomed with a lovely glass of wine and snacks and orange juice for the children. The view from the window is breathtaking and the owners do not intrude despite being resident on the site. There is open access to the whole of the gardens (which has a beautiful lake in the middle).
The pool was fantastic, clean and well kept and the owners could not have done enough for us to make us feel comfortable and welcome. There is a lounge area by the pool to sit and relax with a glass of wine or cup of tea whilst the children play in the pool and its comfortable with open views onto the gardens outside.
The gardens are beautifully maintained and it is so peaceful and quiet.
We went with two dogs and again there is plenty of room for them to run and play - if you have well behaved dogs who come back on command which ours do (most of the time unless they are being stubborn) then there is plenty of space for them to run safely. They can however get out onto the road so if your dog isn't well behaved then you will need to supervise if they edge over to that part of the grounds but there is still more than enough room to run about.
There is also a tree swing which is lots of fun for the kids (and indeed grown ups too) and plenty of outdoor toys including a trampoline and badminton net. There is also a lovely wooden shelter in the middle of the grounds where my step daughter especially liked to go and read as the sunset.
Wifi us available which keeps the children happy and also allows you to plan activities and places to go. It was fast and allowed us all to connect with no issues.
If you want a relaxing holiday and somewhere where you can go back to, to relax after a busy day exploring then The Old Dairy is for you! There is also another house on the site (Phesants Nest) that is also beautiful and has an open fire.
I would have no hesitation in recommending The Old Dairy to friends and family. The accommodation itself was comfortable and clean with plenty of utensils, plates, pots and pans and mod cons where needed. There is also a TV and DVD player for entertainment. Also there was plenty of hot water which I wasn't expecting being in such a secluded place but we had no problems at all.
Thank you to the owners for their hospitality.

"Beautiful surroundings, the owner Philippa in the adjoining house was very helpful and kind, inviting my grand-daughter to help feed the horses."
Our dog was most welcomed but there is not an enclosed space to let the dog out first thing in the morning and last thing at night. However, we were given free rein to let our dog off the lead in the extensive garden which has a lovely swing and trampoline to occupy little ones. All in all we were delighted with the cottage, pool and stunning garden..we had a wonderful stay at the Old Dairy...Many thanks!

"The cottage is well decorated and appointed and has excellent WIFI facilities and a good sized heated swimming pool."
The cottage is situated in large grounds and is ideal for families that want to relax and enjoy walking in the local countryside or to use it to explore Devon/Cornwall. Wildlife abounds with a good range of birds, foxes, badgers, owls and deer. The Owners were particularly helpful and were exceptionally supportive during the Beast from the East that left the roads deep in snow and impassable for almost 3 days.
