  • "Enjoyed our stay very much."

The cottage is warm and cosy and has a well-equipped kitchen with a washing machine, although no dryer. The beds are comfortable and it's very quiet at night. There's a lovely pub just over the road and everyone in the village we met was friendly and helpful.

So Glad Richard an his family enjoyed their stay. They stayed here over Xmas. Milton Combe is a magical place to stay over the Xmas break and the pub opposite puts on special menus. We put up Xmas decorations and Richard brought a Xmas tree! Property Owner

  • "Very comfortable beds and a lovely, tidy and very well-presented cottage."

There was no wood for the wood-burner, but this wasn't a major issue. We had a lovely stay and would be happy to recommend and re-book this property again.

So pleased that Ruth and her family had a lovely holiday. I hope they return for a second stay. A small quantity of logs are kept in the wooden chest in the lounge. I will amend my welcome letter to make this clearer to guests. Property Owner

  • "The property did not detail the fact that the garden was across the road."

this would have been helpful as I had a four year old who would have loved to have played in the garden but this was not possible without parental management. The bedroom at the right of the staircase had a mattress that was too soft for me. The left hand bedroom had a nice hard mattress. The right hand bedroom had blinds that were very difficult to adjust to the 'up' position.

A little disappointed with the 75 score , given that Timothy gave some feedback describing the cottage as 'lovely'. The website does make it clear that the garden is separate from the cottage and on a hillside. But overall ,very pleased that Timothy and his family had a lovely holiday there. Property Owner

  • "Stayed at Rose Cottage with my daughter."

Was great to have a king size bed each, which were very comfortable. Lovely homely cottage provided with everything you need. Would highly recommend The Who’d Of Thought It Inn pub just a few steps away. Rose Cottage in Milton Combe is in a lovely part of Dartmoor with some great walks nearby on the moors and not too far away for a trip to Cornwall. Would highly recommend and hope to return again.

Was great to have Amanda and her family stay & that they enjoyed their holiday so much. Really hope she returns one day. There is so much to explore from Rose Cottage whether you are walking, driving or cycling. Property Owner

  • "Great week’s stay in Rose Cottage."

It had all we needed for our stay and was very clean and tidy. Beds very comfortable too. The pub across the road served delicious food as did the pub in nearby Yelverton. Good location for walks on Dartmoor as well as visiting other nearby tourist locations. All in all a great holiday helped by great weather.

So nice to have Helen stay at Rose Cottage. She contacted me before the start of the holiday with a couple of questions. I am always very happy to clarify points to guests ahead of their holiday. Property Owner

  • "Like many of the feedbacks of previous guests, we really enjoyed our stay."

The cottage is very comfortable and we had great nights sleep. One feels immediately at home. Maggie is a wonderful host, very thoughtful, sending us immediately a welcome letter with useful tips for around the area but also within the cottage. The weather had not been too kind but we made the most of it. The property is really well situated to do easily day trips and the area is so beautiful. We would love to return. And yes, we ate at the pub opposite, the food was delicious and the host/staff very welcoming.

I am so pleased that Beatrice enjoyed her stay. It seems that she enjoyed both the local area and day trips further afield, for which the position of the cottage is perfect for both Devon and Cornwall. Beatrice also gave us very useful feedback during her stay and we really hope she returns one day. Property Owner

It is cosy, well equipped, just everything one could ask for. The tasteful decor made it such a charming place. I simply cannot speak too highly of this accommodation. It is ideally placed for visiting many local places of interest. A memorable holiday here.

It was a real pleasure having this couple at Rose cottage, who made the most of the village of Milton Combe and the immediate surrounding area. It would be lovely if they came back for a stay at Rose cottage in the future. Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful cottage and really appreciated the welcome gifts left by the owner."

It was cozy and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The garden is separate to the property by a very small quiet road but is part of the character of the whole village and we had no problems with our son whizzing out of the door by himself for a play in there - there are more horses than cars going through the village! There is a sweet playing area just down the lane near the church so really ideal for children of all ages. The location itself would be difficult to beat if you are looking for a peaceful stay in this part of Devon. The village is picture perfect and the pub opposite the cottage has delicious food, roaring fires and plenty of local beer and cider on tap. We would love to return one day as it's a location to enjoy in any season.

So pleased Laura had a great holiday, hope she returns to us in the future. Property Owner

  • "This is a very special place in the heart of a lovely village."

Maggie and Russell have taken great pains to provide a comfortable, recently renovated and well appointed cottage. There are two double bedrooms, one with en-suite, comfortable lounge and small but well laid out kitchen and the pub is just across the road. There is good lighting throughout (including for reading in bed!). The village is in a valley and very attractive. The garden across the road is on a hillside and a great place to sit with morning coffee. The situation of course has some limitations - all well explained in the web description - there really is parking for just one car and the stairs are steep, although you soon get used to them. If you can live this, you will have a lovely time at Rose Cottage.

We are so pleased David had a lovely time at the cottage and appreciate feedback. There are some further limited options for further car parking close to the cottage. Please contact the owner direct for details and to make the arrangements Property Owner

  • "A really lovely cottage in such a beautiful village location."

It was comfortable and clean with good facilities and both we and our children loved staying there. It is very quiet despite being just a few steps to the pub next door with good food on offer. We can recommend this cottage. The only very small issue we found was the lack of wardrobe space to hang-up clothes although there were ample drawers.

So pleased that Ed and his family enjoyed their stay. We appreciate and act on all customer feedback. We have since added smart new wardrobes to both bedrooms. Property Owner
