The property

This semi-detached cottage is situated on the owner's old farmstead next to open Dartmoor, two miles from the heart of Lydford.

With an upside down layout, it is a lovely place for families or for friends to relax.

You enter into the open plan living space, a smart and comfortable place to chill out with polished oak floor, interesting pictures in the seating area, a dining area and well equipped kitchen.

Oak open tread stairs wind down to your two smart bedrooms, with the double a lovely lofty room with rafters and a walk in wardrobe.

Outside, you have your own little enclosed lawn with picnic table for alfresco meals, and beyond that is stunning countryside with signs directing you past lakes to open moorland for wonderful walks.

Lydford Gorge with its amazing ravine and waterfall is managed by the National Trust and is a must-see, as is Lydford’s ruined castle and Brentor’s tor-top church.

Meals out are tempting, with two good food pubs nearby.
