"Sharon was a great host."
The place was clean, everything you need is there, just bring food, which morrisons and aldi is just 5-7 mins drive away. Attractions are close, and if you only want to see local area, cardinham woods is only 5 mins away, where we got the freshly baked scones , was one of the best! And if you want the best freshly baked pasty and sausage roll… Bodmin Jail cafe called moor is the best too and its only 9 mins drive, so far… its the best accomodation we have been so far… the garden is beautiful… saw rabbits around, and the view is spectacular! Plan to go back again one day! very peaceful… we have unlimited access to our own hot tub, and played badminton in the garden too. Its the best one! I hope the place can be known so more can experience the serenity and the rest we all long for.

"This property was ideal, comfortable and clean beautiful countryside view."
Ideal as a centre point to travel all around Cornwall. It's a place we will be going back to. The road to it was just a small lane so be careful as there are still idiots that drive to fast for a country road! Would highly recommend this holiday let

"What a lovely cottage."
The hosts ate very welcoming and make you feel right at home. The cottage itself is situated in a lovely and quiet position with excellent views over the countryside (especially from the hottub). It is ideally positioned to explore Cornwall with most areas being around an hour away. Will definitely recommend The Retreat to others and will be planning our next stay here soon.
Thank you both so much for your wonderful review!!! We’re so happy you both had a lovely time, Thank you so much for recommendations it means a lot to us, and we look forward to meeting you again, all the best Sharon and Lee xx Property Owner

"Lovely area, sweet little holiday let."
Very attentive hosts. Sadly the hot tub was not working for the entirety of our stay, it did get rectified by the end of our stay but was a bit disappointed not to have it for the whole holiday. Comfortable accommodation, hot tub overlooked by another property which you couldn’t tell from the pictures before arrival.
Hi Livvy, thank you for your review, we’re so happy you both enjoyed your stay, apologies again that the hot tub was not working for a couple of days as the electric on the board had blown, and as it was the weekend so I couldn’t get an engineer out till Monday to fix it, we did offer for you to use another hot tub next to you, it was very unfortunate as this is the only time the hot tub has not been up and running, we’re glad you had a lovely holiday and fabulous weather All the best Sharon and Lee x Property Owner

"Such a lovely place to stay !"
The cottage sits on the edge of the woods with beautiful views of the countryside . The hot tub was amazing and very well maintained. Very peaceful and lovely to watch the little bunnies running around in the morning. Sharon was an amazing host and very welcoming on arrival. The walks in the surrounding woods were perfect for our dog Winston and there is a lovely stream you can walk down to also. The retreat has everything you need and the beds are so comfortable! . Only one thing I could see was missing and that was a potato masher .. I really needed it when cooking, but everything else was perfect . We normally like to travel to different parts of Cornwall and never go somewhere twice, but I would definitely come back to the retreat again. thank you for a great holiday xx
Aww thanks for such a lovely review, you were perfect guests, on your return, you will find a potato masher and treats for lovely Winston, Enjoy the rest of the summer Sharon and Lee xxx Property Owner

Boasting stunning countryside views, The Retreat welcomes four guests to experience a charming and peaceful getaway in Cornwall.
Cross the threshold into your new home-from-home and make yourselves right at home by putting your feet up infront of the Smart TV in the living/dining room.
The chef of the group can utilise the kitchen to cook up some lovely culinary creations which can be shared at the dining table while you plan the days ahead over a bottle of bubbly.
If you prefer to dine alfresco, venture out onto your very own private patio where you can enjoy a feast and admire your beautiful surroundings; for an added touch of decadence take a relaxing soak in the bubbling hot tub and relax as the stars appear overhead.
When the evening draws to a close, retreat to one of the two, well-appointed king sized bedrooms to catch your rest.
One of these boasts an en-suite for that added touch of privacy and helps ensure there are never any morning queues when it comes to getting ready.
In the morning, head to the spacious shower room to freshen up ahead of your day's adventures.

Where you’ll be staying
BODMIN
- Lostwithiel 6 miles
- St. Austell 13 miles
- Padstow 16 miles
- Newquay 21 miles
Bodmin, the one-time County Town of Cornwall with its narrow streets, shops and pubs, is perfectly placed for exploring all that this fabulous holiday area has to offer. The outstanding surf, rugged cliffs and hidden coves of the north coast beaches and the quieter sands and river estuaries of the south coast are both 15 miles away while on the edge of town is the fascinating museum and haunting presence of the old Bodmin Jail. The popular Camel Trail for cyclists and walkers also winds its way through the town on its journey to the sea at Padstow. Close by are the open spaces and wind swept grandeur of Bodmin Moor while the incomparable Eden Project (11 miles), Falmouth’s National Maritime Museum (30 miles) and the beautiful harbour town of Padstow with its famous pubs and restaurants (16 miles) make for great days out. Also within easy reach and ideal for a fun-filled day out, guests can visit Lanhydrock House, the small town of Fowey and Charlestown with its Tall Ships, The Eden Project and Lostwithiel. There is a good choice of country pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area.
