    The house was spacious airy and clean. Plenty of space for all of us. Not too far from a selection of friendly cafes and pubs. A couple of kayaking / surf shops in the village too which we took advantage of. Lovely sunset at the beach as well.

The property

This Victorian terrace is situated on the corner of Barton Gate Lane in the delightful seaside resort of Combe Martin, at the point where Exmoor National Park and the North Devon AONB meet.

With a beautiful interior displayed over three floors and your very own private, enclosed patio at the rear, what more could you ask for in a revitalising break to Devon.

Entrance is gained straight from the main street, which leads down to the shops, pubs and general liveliness of this bustling village - a great base for exploring the surrounding region.

Kick off your walking boots and hang up your coats, before admiring the beautiful Victorian tiled floor in the porchway.

The bright and attractive kitchen plays host to integrated fixtures and glossy white tiles.

The dining room adjoins the lounge, which is ideal for family mealtimes and entertaining, with a good sized dinner table and bright turquoise sofas to relax on.

Choose to enjoy breakfast in the conservatory, or perhaps you might like to venture outside for a spot of alfresco dining.

The first floor inside, occupies a king-size room with an en-suite shower and decorative fireplace.

This level also plays host to a generous bathroom and a child's single room.

Climb to the top and find another king-size double and twin room, both served by a separate shower room.

Outside the sheltered patio benefits an elevated decking area, so you can sit out and indulge a sunny afternoon with a refreshing drink in hand.

An 8-minute walk will take you straight down to the beach at Combe Martin, which is flanked by some of the highest sea cliffs in England.

The sand and shingle cove is ideal for picnics on the sand or as a launch point for sea kayaking and fishing in the bay - you may even spot a dolphin or two!

The village is home to its very own Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, which makes a great day out for the family, as well as long walks along the South West Coast Path.

A selection of pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops can be found on a gentle stroll down towards the beachfront.

There are many delightful North Devon towns and villages further afield, just waiting to be explored.

Dive into surfing at Woolacombe if you're feeling particularly adventurous, and visit some of the numerous National Trust properties peppering the region.

This is the ideal base to return to, at the end of each fun-filled day.

At the point where the Exmoor National Park and the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty meet, is where you'll find Combe Martin. This small seaside resort, with all of the necessary amenities, is a great attraction to locals and visitors alike, and is home to a very popular beach as well it's own Dinosaur Park! Combe Martin is home to the historic Earl of Rone festival held in May each year and has an annual carnival in August. This is an ideal base for touring, and discovering the delights of North Devon, with Lynton and Lynmouth, Woolacombe, Croyde Bay, Saunton Sands, Ilfracombe and Barnstaple all within easy reach. There are also numerous National Trust properties and gardens waiting to be enjoyed. Surfing at Woolacombe is among the best in the South West, while the South West coastal path passes within a mile. Combe Martin is a great base for enjoying a seaside getaway, with something to keep everybody entertained.
