  • "Staircase a real nightmare, very very steep with no hand rail only a rope on one side."

Unsuitable for most people unless you are young. Also a gate is needed at the top of the stairs as there is a bedroom almost opposite the top. Someone had put a loop of string attached to the bathroom door so that had to be left open and looped over the banister rail.

  • "Best room is used as dining room and would have loved comfy chairs in there."

Maybe corner sofa in front room, folding dining table back wall and second sitting room at the back. Loved the high quality linen and towels.

The cottage had everything you need the town was very nice with great shops and pubs easy to walk to the location meant it was easy to get around other parts of Devon

  • "There should be a stronger warning about the steep stairs; it is very difficult to get a suitcase up or down."

More information about local public transport options would be welcome eg timetable and where to get the bus to Exeter

  • "The cottage was very comfortable particularly the beds!"

It was a perfect location for walking and we only used the car once to go further a field. The garden was a big bonus particularly as we had such exceptional weather so we ate out side every day. It’s location meant we got to explore Chagford with ease, including the pubs and cafes, lots of different little shops selling local cheese, freshly made bread, and organic produce. This made the holiday very special. Just a quick note to say the owners could do with changing the lightbulbs to LED ones to provide better light in bedrooms etc. There is limited storage for clothes etc and think it would help those staying to be aware this. A time table of buses would be helpful to have, and a note about the parking in Chagford explaining where it’s ok to park and clarifying the restrictions would be helpful. A very lovely cottage and one I’d go back to.

  • "Very comfortable cottage with a lovely sunny garden."

Stairs, as mentioned in details, could be challenging for some people. Chagford has really good shops so catering for ourselves was very easy. Plenty of pubs as well! Walks from the door are lovely but also Moor and sea are easy to get to. We had a lovely week!

  • "Lovely, comfortable, well set up cottage with everything one needed."

Owner had to sort out a problem with a tap and he got the repair done within a couple of hours despite living an hour and a half away. We will definitely book again.

  • "Excellent accommodation."

Very well equipped and maintained. Amazing garden. Great location. Only negatives; the proximity of the road meant traffic noise was evident in the living room and bedroom which took some getting used to and parking/unloading/loading car was a headache due to local restrictions.
