It was lovely and had everything. 100% enjoyed it. Stayed in lot of places but this is the one which we will book again. One of the best place we have stayed. Thank you.

The property

Just a few hundred yards from the bustling square of the Dartmoor village of Chagford is this attached cottage sharing a sheltered courtyard with the owner’s house.

In a peaceful spot, yet with shops and inns close by, this is an excellent base for couples or families to enjoy this lovely part of Devon.

From the sheltered cobbled courtyard, step into the open plan living space with its comfy seating area, neat kitchen area and table and chairs.

Peacefully up the stairs are the two pretty bedrooms sharing a bathroom.

In the style of a French bistro, you have your own little table and chairs immediately outside the door, and the charming owner is delighted for you to enjoy the silver birch glade behind her house.

Chagford has lots of interest, with a famous outdoor seasonal lido, independent shops and a choice of pubs.

National Trust Castle Drogo is interesting to visit, and of course there are fabulous walks all around, beside the River Teign and over the hills of Dartmoor.

Beaches are about twenty miles away and the lovely cathedral city of Exeter is even closer.

With so much to do and admire all around, The Linhay is a fine place to enjoy a relaxing break.

A picturesque town at the northern point of Dartmoor National Park in Devon. Chagford, one of the five Stannary towns of Dartmoor, is small in size but is packed with amenities and things to do. There is a wide range of shops as well as four pubs. Chagford also has more active facilities such as public tennis court and an open-air swimming pool to enjoy at your leisure. It is a town of great history, home to the Three Crowns Hotel which dates back to the 1200's. Chagford is well known for its culture, hosting film, literary and music festivals in the town as well as an annual running race, known as Two Hills Race.
