"Fantastic property, well equipped, comfy, extremely clean."
It had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed sitting in the lovely garden, admiring the views across the countryside .Great location, close to beautiful beaches and places to visit.
The owner was so friendly and welcoming, as previous guests have mentioned, we appreciated the lemon drizzle cake and treats! She was so attentive.
We didn't want to leave and we are hoping to return in the future. We would definitely recommend The Hideaway.

"The Hideaway is a very comfortable and clean cottage which is an extension of the owners property, but with its own parking and entrance."
Vicky the owner popped in to see that everything was ok and brought some of her legendary cake for us which was amazing. Nothing seems too much trouble for her. The only disappointment was that they no longer have the cows that are mentioned in Sykes. Overall, very very good value for money.

"Lovely getaway in the the heart of the south Devon countryside."
Great for coastal walks nearby including burgh island , well worth a visit. Nice comfortable well equipped cottage all on one level . Lovely shower and well equipped kitchen. Vicky and her lemon drizzle were brilliant a very lovely host. If it’s clear it’s a great dark sky area. Lots of local wildlife , owls squirrels and raptors. Very enjoyable visit.

"We loved The Hideaway, from the top quality accommodation with everything we could wish for, to the lovely welcome by Vicky bearing lemon drizzle cake."
We also loved being on a working farm with cattle literally the other side of the fence, wonderful to wake up to. This was the best accommodation we've had in an area we've been visiting for nearly 30 years. Yes, the lanes are very narrow and can be a challenge but that's something you have to expect in such a rural part of the country. See you next year!

"The Hideaway was a fantastic base for our Devon holiday."
It was clean, spacious for 4 people (2 adults & 2 children) & well appointed with everything we could need on our week away. Vicky was a super host offering recommendations of beaches to visit, activities to keep both kids & adults happy & places to eat. The welcome package was perfect after a long drive & the home made lemon cake was delicious!!
A word of warning if you aren't confident driver, access to the Hideaway is down some very narrow lanes & reversing to passing places happened often but that's the Devonshire roads for you & it wouldn't put me off booking to stay here again in the future. Highly recommended!!

Accommodation is bright fresh and with everything we would need for our stay. Vicky and Michael are the prefect hosts with nothing too much trouble, they took time out of their busy days to explain various things around the farm which we appreciated. The beds are very comfortable and the views are great. The property is within easy reach of many beaches, we had a relaxing time and an enjoyable rest. We are yet to open our honey but are looking forward to a taste of Devon.

"A real gem!"
A lot of thought has obviously gone into setting up the very well equipped Hide Away which is stylishly and comfortably furnished. The peace and quiet hit us within minutes of arriving when, with our first cuppa, we sat at the patio table and took in views of the valley beyond listening to birdsong and clucking hens. To our amusement, the cows in the adjoining field came to the fence to check us out. Relaxing sleep was achieved in the extremely comfortable bed. The accommodation is spacious, clean, light and bright. Location is perfect for visiting local beaches, country towns and villages details of which can be found in the Guest folder. Vicky is an excellent, friendly, smiley Host who bakes a delicious Lemon Drizzle cake. Thank you. We will definitely be back but Sykes - Why only 4 ticks?

"Recently converted, spotlessly clean and very comfortable."
The master bedroom extends through to the Ground Floor of the main house so light sleepers may hear movement above. Good views. Our nice small garden was lovely to sit in for breakfast in the sunshine whilst watching the cows in the field, and in our case, a bottle-fed calf. The master bedroom looks out over the owner's garden and the valley beyond. Devon lanes are narrow but, in late May, quiet, so not much reversing required. Vicky is an excellent host.
