  • "This is a great property, perfectly located for the harbour and for walking up into the hills with the dog."

Ilfracombe is a picturesque traditional harbour with commercial fishing still operating daily. Admiral's House overlooks the harbour and is right next to the Lifeboat station; we watched the boat being launched twice. Jellicoe is nicely appointed and, when we had a problem with the boiler, Debs was there within 15 minutes to fix it. Highly recommend!

  • "The position of Admiral’s House is perfect for enjoying the varied facilities and attractions which Ilfracombe has to offer."

Parking outside the property is very limited but we purchased a 7 day permit allowing us to park on the nearby Marine Drive which solved the problem. The property is clean and comfortable with a lovely view over the harbour and we found Debs, the owner, particularly helpful and friendly. We would certainly recommend the property though the steps up to the lovely bedroom could be difficult for anyone with walking difficulties.

  • "Absolutely wonderful stay at Jellicoe."

Apartment was perfect in every aspect. Beautifully furnished throughout and spotlessly clean. A stones throw from the working harbour with bars restaurants and shops close by. The bedroom was fabulous with far reaching views out to sea. A bottle of wine and fresh flowers was much appreciated. Debs, the Owner of Jellicoe , was very friendly and helpful.

We loved the views over the harbour/beach and the range of good walks from the front door were excellent especially with our dog. Would stay again. Debs was very friendly and helpful.

  • "Firstly to say that the owner Debbie is lovely and very helpful."

I feel awful giving a negative review but we were quite disappointed with our stay and it would be wrong to not give an honest review. Having thought about it since we should have booked a no dogs allowed place as Jellicoe smelt strongly of dogs, especially when we used the "Henry' vac to clean, it really wreaked of dog odour. The decoration is looking quite dated and the wallpaper tired particularly in the bathroom. We were asked to leave recycling on the landing yard upstairs before leaving. I have to say that the little yard was a bit of a disgrace. Piles of bags containing bottles, cans etc. which clearly hadn't been removed for quite some time. It all needed a better strategy. Clearly marked bins would help instead of people throwing their rubbish in a heap. Like I say, sorry for such a review but our impression of the place was not good. On the positives, Debbie is a lovely lady, the bedding was very clean and the position of the building is wonderful.

  • "Disappointed as we didn’t think it ranked as 4 star."

Decoration was tired and needed some’odd jobs’ doing.

Thank you for your feedback and we are very sorry you were disappointed. We would certainly have tended to any issues if you had made us aware at the time. The property has since been updated and redecorated so we think people would be very pleased with how it looks now. We hope you enjoyed your stay otherwise. Property Owner

  • "The welcome from Debbie was first class giving us a full description of the amenities and the surrounding area."

Places to see, eat and go was very helpful as we had our dog with us. The views were spectacular from the room and the apartment was perfect for our weekend away. Would recommend staying there to all of our friends and we will be back.

  • "The apartment was beautifully furnished and decorated as well as very clean."

It was very warm and comfortable and well equipped. There was a stunning view from the dining table and the bedroom. We found the owners very helpful and friendly. It was centrally located and we found Ilfracombe to be a beautiful town in a lovely part of Devon.

  • "Beautifully situated for the harbour and town."

The view from the windows was wonderful overlooking the harbour beach. Parking can be a problem, but we did mange 4 out of 7 nights in the road outside the flat - no charge. We did not buy a weekly parking permit but would advise it in peak holiday times. Two of the three nearest car-parks have free parking after 6.00 pm through to 8.00 am. So get up early to feed the parking ticket machine for any extra time you need. The long term car-parks are the most economical but not the nearest to the flat. Overall a great flat and location, would use again.

  • "Jellicoe is one of 5 apartments in the building and the only one with 2 levels."

The other 4 appear to be 2 bed apartments and they are all on one level each. It is possible to view the harbour at Ilfracombe as the property has a Tourist department webcam mounted on the roof of the building. This gives a number of views of the harbour area and a better idea of the facilities locally. The link to the webcam is here: http://www.camsecure.co.uk/Camsecure3/ilfracombe_webcam.html Although the Sykes description indicates that parking is available outside the property, in practice it was impossible for me to get a spot. Solution is to buy a 4 or 7 day long term parking ticket costing approx £12 for 4 days and £20.80 for 7 days. Long term parking is only about 200 metres from Jellicoe. The ticket also allows parking at some other towns long term parking across the North Devon area, including Lynmouth esplanade.
