    “The accommodation was perfect for our family get together.”

    There were six adults 2 babies and a

    There were six adults 2 babies and a 5 year old and at no time did we feel cramped. The little room off the main living area was very useful as a separate TV room. It was very well equipped and the appliances were better than we expected from holiday accommodation. The only downside we found with young children was the uphill walk back from the beach.

The property

In the pretty, seaside village of Charmouth, about 500 yards up from the beach is Pippin, a stunning detached house.

Built in 2015, it's ‘upside down’ layout is ideal for enjoying long, panoramic views over the village to the beach, Stonebarrow Hill and across the sea to Portland.

Pippins exudes style and comfort and comes with a whole host of extras, including USB sockets, an integrated wine cooler and bamboo flooring.

Nine steps lead to the front door and from there into a magnificent, vaulted, open plan living area with high apex beams, wood burning stove and full-width bi-fold doors leading to the balcony from which there are views of the sea and lovely sunrises.

The kitchen comprises quartz worktops, a breakfast bar and all mod cons.

Also on this level, a study/second living room, which doubles as a bedroom when required (double sofa bed), and a cloakroom with basin and WC.

On the ground floor are three spacious bedrooms, all with a distant glimpse of the sea – a double (6' zip-linked bed can be a twin) with slate-floored en suite shower-room and glazed doors to a little sitting-out area, and two further doubles (6' zip-linked beds or twin).

They share a family bathroom.

Outside there is an enclosed sitting-out area with seating for 8, and a gas barbecue and, bordering the drive, is a small lawned area which is shared with the friendly owners.

The old coastal village of Charmouth has interesting shops, a handful of pubs, and a long sandy/pebble beach backed by ‘Jurassic Coast’ cliffs - famous for fossils.

The popular town of Lyme Regis with its iconic 'Cobb' and sandy beach is just two miles away and in the bustling market town of Axminster, foodies can visit Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s café - River Cottage Canteen.
