    Great hosts, Neil was there to welcome us with scones and very helpful throughout the whole stay. Facilities were great, kids loved the swing and pool. Property well stacked with everything we needed and more. Bed really comfy, will definitely be staying again. Thanks Neil and Rachel.

  • "A fantastic rental property in beautiful surroundings!"

    This is the 6th time we have been to Pheasants Roost and every time its a delight. The cottage is spacious, clean and has an amazing shower. The owners are extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. The private pool is a big hit for my boys and they spend hours in it, giving me finally get a chance to relax.:-)

Winkleigh is a small rural village in the heart of Devon's rolling countryside and offers a shop, post office, butcher and a cafe, plus two pubs, one which offers food and the chance to sample traditional ciders and scrumpy from the Winkleigh Cider Company. A van which serves delicious fish and chips also comes to the village twice a week. Winding lanes, high hedgerows and a more gentle pace of life characterise the area. The open tors of Dartmoor are a big attraction for nature lovers and walkers, while the hills of Exmoor and the surfing beaches can all be reached in 40 minutes by car.
