  • "We recently had a fabulous stay at High Lodge."

A stones throw from the fabulous pub but still so peaceful. The cottage was very comfortable with lovely views. The weather was amazing so the doors from the living room were open pretty much all of the time allowing us to appreciate the garden. Had a BBQ and played garden games in the extensive garden. The kitchen could maybe do with another set of plates, dishes etc. Otherwise, a wonderful cottage in a lovely area with great walks from the door. Would definitely recommend.

  • "Two slight niggles in an otherwise very good property."

The shower would benefit from a mat as the floor gets very slippery. The other is the lack of cleaning materials. Apart from a very heavy hoover, a j-cloth and a dustpan and brush there was nothing. No loo cleaner, or any type of surface cleaner. Made clearing up on departure less than easy! Other than that a lovely property in a gorgeous setting with a very safe environment for our dog and plenty to do and see in the surrounding area with the bonus of an excellent pub across the road!

  • "A lovely wooden clad house in an upside down style."

Modern kitchen washrooms and decoration. Superb grounds which are pet and children friendly. Great family and pet friendly pub at the end of the drive and a superb location for exploring the area. Very quiet position with abundant wildlife and fields to the sides and behind. 2 outside seating areas with tables. Comfortable and very well equipped for a couple or small family. Beaches and facilities are all very short drives. We would highly recommend this property.

  • "What a lovely week for us."

The cleanliness was 5 star plus, the lodge had absolutely beautiful views, it was very private too with its own long driveway and big garden ideal for children and dogs. A high recommendation from us.

  • "Wonderful property - clean, comfortable, well-equipped and in a superb location."

Lots to do and see in the area. Very dog friendly and peaceful. Although not in the listing, there was a gas BBQ at the property which was a bonus. Whilst close to a pub (which we visited and would recommend) we were not disturbed by noise. There are two rental properties on this site but both have large garden areas and are well distanced from each other. This is one of the nicest properties we have ever rented and we intend to return.

  • "Fabulous holiday in a fabulous lodge!"

We had typical British summer weather - rainy dull and cool days, but spent many a happy hour entertaining ourselves in this beautiful building. It is obviously fairly new and has a great upside down layout, which made our evening views over the countryside even more enjoyable, obviously accompanied with a glass of vino. Oh and the pub is fab (you have to book if you want to sit inside) otherwise you can sit under the covered area and scoff & quaff by the river. Overall thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing time.

  • "Lovely modern lodge situated in peaceful surroundings, with views across the garden and countryside."

Clean and well equipped and very comfortable, allowing us to enjoy the property and even when the weather turned miserable we happily chose to stay at the lodge, with a beer or two! The White Horse pub has great staff and excellent food, but booking is advised. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property, so much so, we are returning in November.

  • "There were a couple of things which we mentioned in our note to owner which would have enhanced our stay: 1."

Essential- we had to buy non-slip shower mats. Hopefully, there are some there now. 3. A few kitchen utensils-we cook all our meals due to restricted diet: sieve, potato masherl, l,arge frying pan, 8 place servings so dish washer can be used economically 4. DVD player and/or Netflix provision

  • "The lodge is a recent build, and is set in beatiful surroundings."

Bedrooms are an excellent size situated on the ground floor lots of storage and extremely comfortable. Living and kitchen facilities are upstairs and well kitted out. The lodge is situated on a large plot of land behind the local pub, which we eat in a few times as it only takes 3 minutes to walk to. We had a query regarding the Propane gas, and the owner, Tim, came out to explain things. He's a nice guy who also owns the pub too. Lovely area to visit, thoroughly recommended.

Great holiday cottage, very convenient for the pub, anyone over six feet may find the kitchen annoying due to the sloping roof
