    Mr Harris

“Only downside for us was the cottage stairs had a rather loose rope hand “ rail” and would be a lot safer being quite steep as well with a static solid hand rail attached to the wall instead, this from the viewpoint of an elderly couple, ( eighty and seventy seven respectively,) Also a warning about possibly being not that suitable for elderly on cottage description.”

The property

On the edge of Kingston is this 300 year old cottage in the centre of a row of three on a quiet lane.

Enjoyed and cherished by its owner, this is home-from-home accommodation in a picturesque village.

Head indoors and you will find yourself in the charming sitting room with its original features such as beams and the fireplace where now you have a cosy oil-fired living flame stove.

The kitchen is neat and well-equipped and includes a table where you can enjoy delicious meals prepared from local Devon produce and seafood.

At the end of the day, head up the open tread stairs to the two bedrooms, the double a romantic room with big oak bed and old panelling, plus a modern smart bathroom where you have a choice of bath or shower.

At the back of the cottage, sit out in your enclosed garden with its pretty flowers and summer house and fire up the barbecue.

If you don't feel like cooking, the village pub will feed you admirably or head to attractive Modbury for shops and restaurants.

If activity is your thing, Wonwell beach is excellent for bodyboarding, paddleboarding and kayaking, or Bigbury on Sea has an excellent surf school and plenty of waves to ride.

To stay on dry land, walk beside the River Erme or on the Coast Path or play cliff top golf at Bigbury.

2 Middle Gabberwell is a comfortable, welcoming cottage where you will feel right at home.
