  • "The property… location… and views are fantastic…we had another great stay at Tideway…We had young grandchildren staying with us too and thought the addition of curtains to add to the blinds in the bedrooms would have been a help to make it darker."

Also a tumble dryer would have been very useful . We would definitely return for another stay.

  • "We have just spent a week at this lovely property."

It’s spacious, comfortable and beautifully clean. It was well equipped with all you would need for a relaxing break. The garden is huge and safely enclosed to allow your four legged friend to run around. Owner was helpful texting before arrival with instructions and guidance and there was lots of information waiting for us when we arrived to help us with all the facilities in the house. And finally there’s the view, you don’t need to watch TV here just sit back, relax and watch the ever changing scenery of the unspoilt Exe estuary view. So great we’ve booked to come again in October.

  • "Lovely house."

Very comfortable with amazing views over the harbour and of exmouth. The large garden is beautifully maintained. We had a wonderful week. I would just like to say that I don’t think the photos do the property justice. It’s larger than we expected, spotlessly clean and overall just lovely.

The facilities were good. The information about the local pubs and beaches were very useful. An ideal location.

  • "Great holiday and great location."

Great views and so peaceful. Two good pubs serving food at the bottom of the hill. Dawlish Warren is 1.8 miles and Starcross is 1 mile where you can catch a train to various costal locations

  • "A great cottage in a great location."

Lots of room in the cottage to spend time together with your group or get quiet time elsewhere. The garden is huge and we used the patio area lots! Lovely village with 2 fabulous pubs (both are great for food but do book ahead) within easy walking distance (though the hills are steep)! Beautiful view from the house. We got the bus from near the Anchor Inn to Exeter, walked to Starcross to get the ferry across to Exmouth, walked to the beach at Dawlish Warren and drove to Torquay, Brixham and several places along the jurassic coast. It's in a great position to see so many sights across Devon and into Cornwall or Dorset. The home owner messaged to check everything was okay and sorted out any issues immediately. Great service.

  • "We had a really relaxing stay at Tideways, the bungalow was incredibly spacious and had all the facilities we required."

The dog had a great time running around the large and fully enclosed back garden. The main selling point of this property however is the incredible view, I’m not sure why it isn’t emphasised more in the listing, you can sit and watch it for hours as with the tides and boats etc it is constantly changing. The only disappointment of the stay is that the local pubs were booked up for food whilst we were there, so if you want to try them book ahead as they’re very popular.

The good weather allowed us to make the most of the bungalow, inside and out!

  • "Lovely big bungalow with huge garden."

Excellent views across the estuary from all rooms at the front of the house. The road leading up to the bungalow is very steep and narrow, we had a big car and just about managed ok. I would recommend Tideways for a lovely relaxing stay.

  • "This is by far the best accommodation we have stayed in, in the UK."

The views from the front of the cottage over the estuary were amazing and I won't forget them ever. The cottage itself had everything you need for a holiday, as well as plenty of room for everyone. It was very clean and comfortable. The garden was huge and the front patio also gave stunning views of the estuary. The cottage is in a nice quiet area, but close enough to everything you need and places to visit. Overall a fantastic experience and we didn't want to leave.

  • "Lovely large bungalow on a quiet hillside road."

Stunning Exe Estuary views from principal rooms and outside patio. Well equipped inside and helpful owner on hand via her mobile phone. The village is on the 15 mile coastal cycle/walking trail between Dawlish and Exeter with two pubs and with sandy beach and nature reserve only a mile away at Dawlish Warren. Loved it and will return again once Covid is a distant memory

  • "Although most things provided including consumables the kitchen could do with a bit more equipment such as roasting tins and microwave bowls ."

Also a bit short on cutlery for 6 people if you don’t want to put the dishwasher on every time you eat. Customers need to be aware there is no shaver socket in either bathroom or en-suite for charging toothbrushes etc. Owner made contact with us and was very helpful. 13.5 tog duvets were a bit much for a summer rental. But all new and clean In summary a great place and the photos don’t do it justice especially for the room available both inside and out.

  • "Tideways was the perfect holiday home for our young family."

It is in a great location for exploring. We visited babbacombe, teignmouth and dawlish which were all only a short drive away. The closest beach was at dawlish Warren, there is a path there and it took about 30 minutes to walk, it was a cycle path so suitable for pushchairs too. The house itself is on a steep hill. The pictures of the house just don’t do it justice. It has lots of space, the garden is amazing; my little girl loved picking an apple every morning. The views are beautiful and the bifold doors front and back were perfect in the hot weather. All of the beds and bedding were comfy and appeared to be brand new. The owner sent us an email on arrival and responded promptly to any of our queries.
