A beautifully restored 200-year old cottage, originally a pair of fisherman’s cottages, in the heart of Combe Martin, 200 yards from the beach and the coast path.
In a quiet, pretty setting alongside a small stream, this smartly-presented seaside cottage with a Tourist Board Gold Award is a gorgeous place for a family or group to stay on the North Devon coast.
There is also plenty of parking, which is an added advantage in this small coastal village.
The heart of this cheerful holiday home is the spacious sitting room with woodburner and dining area, where everyone can gather together and plan the day ahead over a hearty Devon breakfast.
At each end of the cottage there is a pair of bedrooms, each with its own staircase and each sharing a large bathroom.
Each pair has a king-size double on the first floor and a family room on the second floor, making this Combe Martin cottage an ideal layout for two families to have their own privacy yet be able to gather together for meals and relaxing in front of the woodburner.
The cottage has a small lawn and a large decked area by the stream with a barbecue and a table and seating for everyone, perfect for dining alfresco.
There is also a separate external wet room, perfect for washing off the sand after a day at the shore; the local beach is a short stroll away as are the village shops and pubs.
At nearby Ilfracombe, Damian Hirst's 'Verity' statue dominates the skyline above the picturesque harbour, and the bustling seafront has many good-quality restaurants and bars along with small independent shops.
Damian Hirst's influence on the town continues to grow and there are now many art galleries in the immediate area.
Families will love Watermouth Castle, the award-winning Tunnels beach and Combe Martin Wildlife Park, all of which are a very short drive from the cottage.
The dramatic North Devon coastline will appeal to walkers, and a 15-minute drive from Combe Martin is the 3-mile long sandy beach at Woolacombe, which holds the 'England for Excellence Gold Award' for best family resort and was voted the Best British Beach in the Mail On Sunday.
Lots to do for the whole family in this dramatic part of North Devon.
