As far as Sykes as a holiday site goes we have no complaints. But there were a few things regarding Wringers Meadow cottage that we were unhappy with. As far as Sykes as a holiday site goes we have no complaints. But there were a few things regarding Wringers Meadow cottage that we were unhappy with. In your description of the cottage you warned that the lane was narrow and steep which was very true but not maybe not how narrow. And in the keys collection it said that you could unload/load outside the property and turn around. This was not in our case!! We have a Vauxhall Zafira which we managed to get into the lane but on getting to the property there was not enough room in any pull ins to turn around or when outside I could not get out of passenger door due to low concrete blocks used for protection of house walls. We then had to drop luggage further down the hill and back out of lane which was worse than entering!! All this in pouring rain !! You would only be ok if you had a very small car and I think there should be more of a warning to that effect. We did not attempt it again and had to walk everything down to our car in the pub on departure. I would not envy a family with young children and pets and all their belongings !!! The cottage overall was clean, cosy and well provided but possibly a few more kitchen utensils and baking trays would not go amiss. Also the bedroom with the en-suite was very noisy due to the boiler clicking on and off all night as there is no door to the en-suite. We also had to change rooms to the single not only due to noise but as being in our later years, but not too old, had trouble getting out of the low wooden sunken beds!! And to cap it all the strong winds and rain bought a large tree branch down at the end of the garden. So not the best of weeks although the pub was very good !!
