Had a great Christmas week in babble cottage The cottage is quirky comfortable and fun Tracy the owner was in contact before and during our stay via text and email which was really helpful and great to know that if any questions needed asking I could The decorations and Christmas hamper packed with treats and pressies for us was a lovely touch I can’t fault the cottage as it was warm and cosy as was the villa Thanks for a brilliant christmas

  • "The property works well for an extended family with a self contained annexe sleeping up to four people."

There is a twin bedroom behind the kitchen with a modern en-suite.Upstairs there are two bedrooms with the family bathroom downstairs. The main family area is the large conservatory/dining room although there is another snug. Lighting in the snug and conservatory is poor if you want to read or play games. It has plenty of pans, a mishmash of crockery and dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. We had problems with a very leaky conservatory roof and no heating on arrival. However the rain stopped and the property manager came and sorted the heating. We parked three large cars on the drive although it is fairly tight. The garden is a delight although we had little chance to use it because of the awful weather. Parts of the property could do with a spruce up, especially the bedroom behind the kitchen which is little more than a corridor really.

Thank you for your review. Sorry to hear that the heating wasn't working on arrival and we are very pleased that our house manager was able to get out to you asap and rectify the problem. Regarding the conservatory roof, there was a month's worth of rain on that Friday (over a 24 hour period) so apologies that there was a leak on that day. We have the conservatory people coming out this week to test the roof and fix any leaks. Regarding the lighting in the conservatory and Snug, we will change some of the lights from soft to more powerful for future visitors. All the best Property Owner

  • "Beautiful house, and lovely gardens, had a real magical feel, very cosy, comfortable and quirky."

Lovely homely touches, felt welcomed and relaxed during our stay, and will definitely stay again. Great location, easy bus access to Torquay and Paignton etc, beaches walking distance, or short drive to Babbacome, which is stunning!

  • "This cottage is fabulous and caters for all needs."

Eight of us stayed through the week and had a wonderful time, there is so much space and plenty of seating you do not at time feel overcrowded. The facilties are excellent, I felt the owners had thought of everything The garden and villa was an excellent asset to the property ,this worked great for our family plus dog! There is plenty to do in the area and youll find plenty of info at the cottage regarding tourist attractions etc. All facilities are local including good take out food options and plenty of supermarkets. I would definitely highly recommend this property and website for booking.. We have experienced a great service/ communication from the owners and from sykescottage site. It's been a pleasure.

  • "This is a beautiful place to stay."

It has a lovely homely feeling and is a great space for families to get together especially with the separate villa. The garden is so pretty and with the brook at the bottom off the garden it’s really relaxing. There is a massive space for parking and secure gates so it’s safe for kids and dogs. The artful dodger pub near the house is not great but The dolphin inn less than a mile away is nice for food and has a good selection of drinks. We walked to Torquay harbour (just over 2 miles) then got the 35A bus back for £6.60 per family. Bargain. The bbq area referred to in the description is literally an area not a bbq so you’ll need to take a portable or disposable bbq with you. It’s a nice space to have a bbq though with plenty of seating and tables outside. The owners and the managers are both lovely and very helpful. If I was trying to think of something that could improve it I’d say there’s not much storage upstairs in the house so we were living out of our bags a bit. If we hadn’t already got plans for next Easter I would have booked again for next year. We’ll definitely be back.

This charming period property sits in a secluded haven of tranquillity, yet just 1 mile from Babbacombe beach.

Access to the villa is via the lower garden or its own private entrance down a steep, but well-lit set of steps.

The gardens are a real delight, having been skillfully designed to incorporate a lawn, raised flower beds, and water feature.
