  • "This cottage is a hidden gem in the eastern Dartmoor park."

The hosts Ann and Will provided a great welcome. The garden is beautiful and is a haven for many species of now rare birds. It is possible to walk on to the moors directly from cottage with wonderful views from Corndon Tor. I can recommend this property to anyone wanting to explore Dartmoor.

  • "I needed a quiet, restful break for health reasons."

The Homestead was perfect for my needs: A beautiful, peaceful location in the heart of Dartmoor. Lovely, welcoming (but none intrusive) Owners. A gentle pace of life, pure spring water, clean air - a real place of healing. I've never cooked on an Agar or Raybearn before, but really enjoyed it - delicious cooking at a gentle pace! Plenty of space and time for relaxing - reading, playing Guitar and so much scope for photography On returning home, everyone commented on how much better I looked and how relaxed and unstressed I was!

  • "A wonderful stay; with Annie being the perfect host and the Homestead being incredible accommodation."

Annie greeted us and showed us around which was very kind. We were incredibly lucky with the weather as well! We visited Dartmeet and walked along the river, had cream tea with peacocks at the Badgers Holt and took photos at Pixieland. Climbed the Tor behind the Homestead. Fairly short drive into Totnes where we again walked up and down either side of the river, popped into the town centre. Afterwards we then went into the harbour town of Brixham, had a walk around and dipped our toes in the sea then had proper fish and chips. We went to The Garden House which was beautiful and then explored the tangled mess of Wistman's Woods. Visited Lydford Gorge which was stunning! On our last full day we went to Becky Falls and saw some animals and did some boulder scrambling. Popped into Bovey Tracy and had a walk along the high street, and then afterwards we stopped in the gorgeous town of Widecombe-in-the-moor where we had an amazing dinner at The Old Inn. Wish we could have stayed longer, but that means we will have to come again as there is so much left to do! Thank you so much and hope to see you again Bonnie and Jordan

  • "My wife and I can not speak more highly of this lovely couple and their beautiful "Homestead" from the moment that we pulled into their courtyard both Annie and William gave us a very warm welcome and made us feel immediately at home."

Annie had left a lot of nice touches in the cabin for our arrival which we really appreciated. Unfortunately we only had three days stay there which really is not near enough time to visit all the sites that this location has to offer. We can highly recommend walking up to the top of the hill behind the farm the views are spectacular. To finish we strongly recommend both the location and the hosts and will definitely be going back for more. Big thanks to Annie and William for our stay.

  • "My stay at the Homestead was amazing."

Ann was always available with any information needed, and was always more than helpful. The Homestead it self was really comfortable and clean. The best nights sleep I have had in a long time. The area, even close to the Homestead is very beautiful and calming. I would recommend the Homestead as a really lovely “get away “ place to stay. Especially for walkers and anyone who wants a tranquil place to stay. I plan to book again for next year. You could not wish for a better host.

  • "Very nice retreat to relax away from the hustle and bustle."

When we arrived we’re met by the proprietor who was very friendly and explained everything. We were very much surprised when we found the bare essentials (bread, butter, bacon etc). They were a lovely couple who couldn’t do enough for you.

  • "Arrived at Homestead and was greeted by the owner who showed us around, they explained that the Cooker was a slow cooker and would take allday to cook a simple meal,Not Ideal."

There was no hot water for the duration of are stay ( we had to boil a kettle at least a dozen times to get a bath ) the wifi code and password didn't work ,the freezer for ice was in a separate building ( not ideal when enjoying a gin and tonic having to keep going outside to get ice . All in all the price I paid for the 5 night night stay was not worth it .

We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. The oven is an Oil-fired range, which is advertised on our listing. We were not made aware of the hot water issue or the WiFi issue during your stay so you did not give us the opportunity to fix this for you. If we had been informed we would have came to look into this issue for you and fix it. Property Owner
