  • "High quality accomodation in quiet peaceful location."

All the facilities you need. No mobile signal but wifi calling good. Great communication concerning spare bin bags. Roads to village an adventure but ok (take your time). Waterside pub was great.

  • "The property was well maintained, tastefully decorated and we had all the equipment we needed."

3 of the beds were king sized and very comfortable with cotton bed linen. The only downside was the total absence of mobile phone signal (not the owners fault) and the fact that the wifi failed on a regular basis. There are ways of improving the signal such as putting the router upstairs or using a booster, you can buy a good one for around £50. Other people have raised this issue in the comments book at the property, but clearly nothing has been done to improve the situation, which is disappointing as everyone expects decent wifi and it’s even more important when there is no mobile phone sIgnal.

It really is a beautiful property and we will definitely bring the family again. The communication was brilliant throughout and any requests made were actioned really quickly making it really easy and safe to bring very young children. It really was the best equipped holiday home

  • "Very comfortable house, great beds, peaceful location."

We would have liked anti-slip mats, we had a 15month old baby and a 3 year old so bathing was very difficult. Limited kitchen basics - especially for a high standard, very high cost property. no spices, salt n pepper, fairy liquid, bin bags. Surely bin bags are needed for a house of 8 people to dispose of rubbish. Some areas of the house had cobwebs and dirty window sills!!

Although WiFi listed unable to log on due to lack of mobile phone coverage (EE and O2). Knowing mobile providers available in Cornworthy beforehand would have been helpful when booking. Helpful additions - Anti slip mats for showers and bath or grab handles. A chair for each of the bedrooms.

  • "This is a very well equipped comfortable property."

It could be improved by the addition of a cutlery tray for the dishwasher and the provision of more than one bag for recycling food. We arrived Friday and the recycling was collected on Monday so most of the food had to go in the general waste. You should warn that in our experience there is no mobile phone coverage, there is a land line but no advice on what this can be used for. (ie emergencies contact with owners or?)

Lots of things to see and do in area eg Painton Zoo ,Blackpool Sands , Torquay , Totnes . Local pubs good. Hope to return .

  • "Fantastic house!"

what a lovely way to spend a long weekend celebrating a few milestone birthdays that had been missed last year due to Covid. The facilities were amazing and worlds apart from the cottage that my partner and I had stayed in the week previous, which was tired and lacked basic cutlery etc. A great find and we hope to return in the future.

  • "The house is wonderful with its spacious kitchen and lounge."

We were not able to use the garden as we were there in the winter and it rained most days. The house was spotless and the beds very comfortable. It was warm with its underfloor heating though i found the back bedroom a bit cold my friends who slept there found it fine. It was a very well stocked house. We did lots of cooking and had everything we needed to cook roast dinners. I'd have liked an itinerary of all the kitchen stuff though as i took a lot with me that i needn't have taken. there a washing machine and dryer and fridge freezer in the garage which were well used too. and lots of logs for the log fire which we didn't get to use. It was expensive though being xmas week. The house is in a lovely spot but those roads are scary in the dark especially when you drive there in winter after 4pm and the instructions which were emailed presume you have a day time view of the world which i did not. The longitude and latitude was helpful as it takes you to the door. The only improvements... 1 The oven is very noisy for a long time after use and i had to switch it off at the socket. 2 There's an expectation you leave the house as you found it in the instructions but they expect you to be out by 10am which is nay on impossible unless you get up at 6am. We left it clean and tidy but i wasn't going to start cleaning ovens and mopping floors etc surely that is what the turnaround time is for and the very high costs? Much better if you allow people to leave at 11am and arrive at 3pm esp in winter. I know that will be hard. 3. Parking is snug with two large vehicles but these are minor things. I would stay there again happily

  • "Swallows is a beautiful, clean, spacious, well equipped home, with all that this amazing area has to offer in easy reach."

We found the house comfortable and spacious for 6, but would be plenty of space if there had been 8. Beds are very comfortable, the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. Showers are lovely and poweful. Laundry facilities & an extra fridge in the garrage to chill drinks was much appreciated. The garden is a beautiful place to relax with a glass of something chilled. There's a great pub in the village and many other restaurants, cafes and pubs within a short distance. We visited Bigbury on sea, Hope cove, Dartmouth, Blackpool sands,Totnes and Salcombe. No shortage of things to do in the South Hams area. We would love to visit again.

  • "Perfect property as described with plenty of room and well equipped, although we were only 6 because of covid restrictions."

The extra fridge and freezer in the garage were really useful. It's only downside is the location, fine if you don't mind driving along lanes barely big enough to take a tractor down, most of which are not in good repair and fine if you like reversing down them as passing places are thin on the ground. In a previous review it mentions radiators in bathrooms not working as expected. I enquired about this and was informed they are heated towel rails that come on twice a day. I can confirm that they do at 7am anyway. The underfloor heating in the upstairs bathrooms is not as efficient as that down stairs. Overall a very comfortable, and warm (it was November) home from home. I wouldn't hesitate to book again if it was more easily accessible.

  • "It was home from home!"

Had to really scratch around for anything to comment (not criticise) like the timing of the bathroom radiators we seem to miss no matter what time we got up! Also, problems getting the door key on first night. It was dark and we'd never heard of a lock with a letter "B" instead we kept trying no. 8 ..... Good idea to emphasise it's a letter on the docs?

  • "The house was excellent; comfortable, warm and clean with great facilities for a 3 generation family including a toddler."

The kitchen/diner was very spacious and extremely well equipped. The living room was spacious and had plenty of comfortable seating. We had fun lighting the fire (the fireguard was most welcome as we had young children) and the coffee table was a great size for board games and jigsaws. The room was huge and the furnishings were great quality which really made us feel we were on a luxurious holiday. The bathrooms were great, a real treat to have 3, it gave us space and privacy for 6 adults and 2 children. The bedrooms were quiet and very comfortable. In terms of the setting, the village is quiet and the local pub was good and an easy walk in the dark. There are nice walks in the area, take your boots though as it can be muddy. We had access to the garage which was great for wet coats and boots as well as laundry. The lanes are fun to drive in but a bit nerve wracking if you are not used to high hedges and passing places. Overall this is a great property with excellent facilities, a cot, highchair and stair gate were provided. We had a couple of queries when we were there about minor things but the response was immediate and we were very happy. If I had to suggest changes it would be access to a small freezer and a second stair gate but this is very minor and not a criticism.

It was immaculately clean which was very important to me.Thank you to the housekeeper for that! The beds are clearly brand new, high quality and extremely comfortable.Lovely linen and soft furnishings. Beautiful sitting room to relax in, comfortable sofas. The kitchen was large and spacious and a delight to cook and eat in overlooking a pretty garden. So quite, a little village tucked away. We walked to Totnes in a couple of hours, very hilly and stunning views everywhere. All in all a lovely place to share with lovely friends on our annual get together. We had a couple of issues on arrival but they were promptly dealt with when we rang the housekeeper however the heated towel rails in two of the bathrooms failed to work all weekend even though we were given instructions on resetting the timer. It was a mild weekend so we were fine but possibly needs attention for the cold winter months. Thank you to the owners for providing a wonderful home from home experience!!

When we tried to contact the manger there was no response and we had to contact the owner who was most helpful. The local map left un the property was really useful and we did some lovely short-ish walks. It was a really relaxing holiday. One small point, apart from initial contact issue, a few spare batteries for remotes, weighing scales would be really useful.

The very well equipped kitchen has plenty of crockery and cutlery which is not always the case, especially in the larger houses. The beds were amazingly comfortable and all the bedrooms had plenty of storage space. The lounge was a pleasure to relax in, again with sufficient seating for the eight adults the house can accommodate. The whole house oozed quality and it truly was home from home. The welcome basket was a lovely touch that was also much appreciated. We did have a couple of minor issues during our stay but we contacted Lesley who was very friendly and efficient and sorted out the issues very quickly. Thank you.
