  • "Comfy property with lovely underfloor heating (nice for our feet and the dog loved that too)."

Bath was very nice after a walk in the cold January weather. Garden was smaller than expected and not secure, but nice to look out onto. Didn't feel confident to use the wood burner as the seal was damaged and didn't want a room full of smoke

Thanks so much for your comments. It was lovely to meet you and your gorgeous dog! I'm sorry to hear that you were expecting a larger garden, we ordinarily get comments to say the photos don't do it justice. We will add a note to the details to say that the garden is not currently secure until we're able to do this. I'm really sorry if this inconvenienced you. The fire rope on the wood burner is there to increase the efficiency of the fire rather than smoke proof the property. The chimney has been recently swept in line with requirements so draws well. We've got a rope fixing kit on hand as we rely solely on wood burners ourselves and would have been really happy to pop in and resolve this. This has been done and I'll make a point of double checking in between stays. Thanks for your custom and thanks for leaving the cottage so beautifully clean and tidy. Property Owner

We had a lovely stay at Puffin Cottage. It was warm, cosy, clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The cottage is adjacent to the owner's house but is private and not overlooked. Phil and Polly (the owners) struck the perfect balance between being very respectful of our privacy and, at the same time, giving us the sense that they were on hand should we need them and that they would do anything to make our stay more comfortable. Hawkchurch is a delightful village too, with a warm welcome on offer at the church, pub and shop, which are all just around the corner.
