  • "What a fabulous place for our annual family get together to celebrate our mother’s birthday."

    We’ve stayed in some beautiful places over the years but I think Trembridge House is the best. Very spacious for social gatherings in the evenings when all the family were present but cosy enough when it was just my husband and I. We had thought that once the rest of the family had departed on the Monday, we may rattle around - but no, it was perfect in every way. Very well appointed and equipped too, including the kitchen, which was important as we all enjoy cooking. Stunning location and friendly hosts - thank you. We will return.

    Very easy to talk to with quick replies. Wow factor when walking into the property. Very clean with all the extras like tea pot and cafeteria. Excellent setting for walks and decent nearby corner shop and pub.

    Photos of the property are accurate, in fact can’t do the property justice. Welcome goodies of fresh eggs, sponge cake, crisps & wine were a lovely touch. All the beds were very comfortable & sofas in the lounge were comfy as well. Nice enclosed garden with patio furniture. The owners & the couple who manage the cottage live on the farm, were all lovely & on hand at any time in case we had any problems, but we didn’t have any. So peaceful, the perfect place for family get togethers, to go for walks & generally chill out. Plenty of villages & towns & places of interest within easy reach by car, so a good base for exploring

    Beautiful location . Very comfortable. All the necessary equipment required. . Lovely beds ,bed linen and towels. Spacious sitting room. A central location for seaside, countryside ,towns, National Trust and RHS properties. Lovely helpful staff on site. Fully recommend.

  • "Great property for a family gathering and large enclosed grassy area for dogs."

    Property is warm and has a wood burner for colder times of the year. Might need a few more larger sized dishes in the kitchen to accommodate cooking for 8 people. We are looking forward to our second stay after Christmas!

    On our arrival we had a very warm welcome from our hosts. The accommodation is well furnished & maintained and contains all you need for a relaxing holiday ( great kitchen, well stocked and easy to use oven) The beds & pillows are super comfy and due to the location we all said we slept so well, nothing to disturb us. All the main Devon seaside resorts are within a 45min-1hour drive away. Tembridge house is an ideal place for a Devon countryside holiday, we highly recommend!!

    This does not exist. There is only one staircase at the property. It was rather off-putting in deciding if the property was suitable for our mixed age requirements. Otherwise a really great place to stay.

West Yeo Farm

Witheridge 1.5 miles. Surrounded by rolling green fields in splendid isolation is West Yeo Farm. Set over 76 acres, this medieval farm mentioned in the Domesday book enjoys uninterrupted countryside views across the valley to the village of Witheridge beyond. There are many interesting walks across the land and along the river nearby, and in the autumn, it is possible to help with the annual apple harvest and cider production. The farm is home to two holiday cottages; Tembridge House, sleeping up to eight people, and Upper Red Down, sleeping up to four people, both presented to a lovely standard. Comprising of an open-plan living area, the entire set-up makes a wonderful base to enjoy some leisure time in front of the woodburning stove, bringing warmth to a cosy night in. With doors opening to the outside, you can enjoy the sunny patio, home to a collection of furniture including a barbecue, with all-round idyllic views. Here you can rest in comfort, while the children make the most of the lawned area. This part of Devon is an excellent touring base with easy access to lots of places of interest. Nearby you can explore the Two Moors Way, visit RHS Rosemoor or Exmoor National Park, a short drive away. There are plenty of National Trust properties in the area, as well as some fabulous villages and farm shops. West Yeo Farm is just a few miles from attractive Witheridge and a short drive from the market town of South Molton, known for its Pannier Market, quaint tea rooms and antiques shops. For traditional fun in the sun, the spectacular coastline and sandy beaches along the North Devon coast will provide you with an unforgettable day out.

The property

This four-bedroom converted barn is located on West Yeo Farm, a rural destination with pleasant views welcoming you to the cottage entrance.

The sitting room offers a comfy place to unwind, coordinated with three sumptuous sofas, and a woodburning stove to warm those wintry evenings.

The beautiful country cottage kitchen includes seating for eight people, with exposed A-framed beams, and Mill workings rested above for a glimpse of authentic tradition.

Two king-size rooms are later brought to life by their very own dressing area and exquisite en-suite shower rooms, the first provides access out to the patio, whilst the second is reached by a half twisted stairway, and overlooked by a skylight window.

Two lovely twin bedrooms continue the beamed effect, well-appointed for the family bathroom.

Take a second to admire the characterful mezzanine landing, which peers down upon a charming stone feature wall belonging to the kitchen.

Kings Nympton 9 miles; Chulmleigh 9.5 miles; South Molton 10 miles; Tiverton 10.5 miles.

The quaint little village of Witheridge sits amongst beautiful Devon countryside, with lots of little old houses, a pub, convenience store, a newsagents an even a visiting pizza van, The travelling Pizzeria, which serves wood-fired pizzas fresh from its van in the village each Wednesday, or the fish and chip van, which calls on the village each Friday. The beautiful thatched village of Kings Nympton is just a short drive away and was voted Devon Village of the Year in 1999 by the Campaign for the Preservation of Rural England. Quintessentially English, the village is home to the award-winning thatched and beamed The Grove Inn, which serves excellent home-cooked food and a wonderful range of ale and cider all year round. Chulmleigh to the west offers a couple of pubs, restaurants and takeaways, along with convenience stores and an excellent butchers and bakery, whilst the historic town of Tiverton to the west boasts a selection of interesting boutiques, farm shops, along with lovely walks along the River Exe.
With Exmoor and Dartmoor so close, there is great walking in the area, and within an hour's drive you can reach the coast at a number of lovely beaches.
