  • "Lovely place to stay, very comfortable and a great location."

We had a lovely relaxing time and really enjoyed ourselves. A couple of things to note/feedback - nothing major, but may help future guests. - Car parking: There are 2 public car parks nearby, one by the passenger ferry behind the station that is 2 minutes away but limited spaces. Or 5 minutes walk approx along the road at the marina. Download the Ringo app to make paying/extending time easier, but it is approx. £8 per day. - Kitchen: there was only one tea towel provided and no oven mitt, so the one tea towel we had was used for both drying and taking hot trays etc out the oven, which wasn't ideal. Also take some spare dishwasher tablets and bin bags, only a couple are provided for the week. Ferry crossing - the car ferry is quicker than the passenger ferry and takes foot passengers. Both are the same price too.

Thank you very much for your response. We do state that parking is around £55 for the week. We have asked for more tea towels as indeed one is completely insufficient (thank you for highlighting this) There are however oven gloves in the drawer..?? As it is self catering we do provide a limited amount basics, but I’m afraid you do need to supply the rest. We will however take on board the comments ref dishwasher tablets and have increased this Property Owner

  • "We stayed for ten days in Ferrystone ."

House was spotless , plenty of toilet rolls, dishwasher tablets, bin liners , tea towels (we did bring our own but didn’t need them) games , books, maps and soap! Everything you needed. We hardly cooked as ate out most days but the kitchen was very well equipped . We knew about the electric toothbrush issue as had read the previous reviews . Easily solved by purchasing an adapter for £2.50 in the hardware shop in Dartmouth. No reason not to charge the toothbrush! No issues with hanging space for us and there are additional hangers on backs of the doors . We loved the downstairs space for all the shoes, waking boots , fleeces and cagoules meaning we didn’t traipse mud / wet coats up the stairs. A shoe rack might be helpful maybe but it was fine . Washing machine great and hanging space helpful in the utility room. Patio was used as we had great weather mostly ! Great to sit outside and it gets the sun all day really. Previous reviews critical of showers. We had no issues - two adults and two older teen girls and all agree shower pressure fine. One thing to sort out for the future is the window in the main bedroom as it would only stay open with a cushion propping it up (I am sure the owners will address this in the long term! ) Also the door handle kept falling off to the ensuite. Minor annoyance

Thanks so much for this review and we will certainly get the handle and window looked at (and a shoe rack) We are really glad that you had a good stay (and delighted that the weather ‘played ball’ whilst you were there!!) We really hope to welcome you back to Ferrystone soon. Property Owner

  • "The property is very nice but you need to improve your maintenance schedule."

. the shower tray blocked in the en-suite terrible really . One toilet roll per toilet really . I had buy more and black sacks to clear the rubbish away. Don’t expect to go oh holiday and pay this much for a property and buy toilet rolls and bin. Liners! Improve your standards please. Spot check your cleaners .. clearly nobody runs the showers to check .. make comment you have no power in the bathrooms for electric toothbrush and make it clear only 1 wardrobe in the whole place ..

Thanks of your feedback. It is valued. We have addressed with the cleaning company. Two toilet rolls are now provided. We agree, it’s entirely not unreasonable- same for the black bin liners. We will fit electric power sockets for toothbrushes - this is v helpful feedback (in winter) Bulky wardrobes took up too much floor space (note: there WERE hangers behind each door with space for 7 hangers in each - but we have now added new hanging rails). Shower tray also unblocked. Property Owner

  • "Lovely place , but only 1 wardrobe storage for a party of 5 people."

Great views across to Dartmouth & the ferry noises didn’t bother us. Free street parking extremely limited with only 4 spaces with time restrictions meant we had to pay nearly £60 for the week at the marina, could a deal be made with them to give a discount? These things aside it’s a lovely house with loads of room and all the things you would need for a great holiday. Andrew & Debs and family.

Thanks so much for the feedback. Parking in the whole area an issue and we don’t set parking fees (It’s South Hams District Council) we did advertise that there was paid parking opposite (behind station) & stated it’s around £55 p wk. Marina is the same. Nb. Hanging arms (with hangers) were behind each door, but I have now put new wooden hanging rails in the two front bedrooms (Bulky wardrobes sadly took up too much floor space and didn’t fit easily when we put the new heating in) Thanks again. • "Excellent property."

Very clean and comfortable. Great position. A lot of stairs . The curtain rail on the stairs needs attention as does the window in in the back bedroom. Very poor water pressure in the showers . Dish cloth and T towels and D. W. Tablets would be appreciated and would be happy to pay for them along with a pint of milk. Otherwise Excellent comfy beds and sofas Reasonable value and would definitely come again. So all in all. A big thankyou

Thank you so much for your feedback. It’s really appreciated. Apologies on the tea towels and dishcloths as these are usually always provided- not sure what happened, but apologies. (There is a contact in the village- number is in the property pack, who could have rectified this for you) The showers are electric 8KW and sadly the maximum wattage we could have (we had much debate with the electrician!!) without overloading the system- sorry!) There are milk sachets and tea bags/coffee/hot chocolate and biscuits. Glad you found the beds comfy and really hope to welcome you again. Did you get the gift (a candle) . Property Owner

This is the second time we have stopped at Ferrystone and would certainly recommend the property for a holiday A really nice, high quality property in a great location

This is wonderful- you are our first (we think) repeat client, as we only launched in spring last year! We are very grateful for your kind feedback and pleased that you’ve rated the property as ‘high quality’ - thank you very much and we certainly hope to welcome you again soon. Property Owner

  • "Was a wonderful place to stay fab for people watching as Dartmouth ferry in view of window."

Place was brilliant for our stay as my son has treatment at a hospital in Torquay. Only downside is no parking - had to park in car park and cost a bit over the 2 weeks.

Hi Sarah, apologies for not replying sooner and hope your son is doing well? We do advertise the paid parking, but sadly can’t control the rate as these are set by south hams District Council. Parking in Dartmouth and Kingswear is a challenge. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and do hope to welcome you again soon . Property Owner

  • "What a beautiful house, everything is of a really good standard."

Comfortable beds and furniture in the lounge. The location is fantastic and the views are amazing. The roof terrace to sit and relax after a day out is perfect. Everything you could possibly need was in this house. The car park across the road was so convenient. Because of the location right next to the ferry across to Dartmouth and the train station to Paignton across the road meant we didn’t need to use the car which was wonderful. I would certainly stay in this luxury property again.

Thank you for this wonderful review. We are so glad you enjoyed it and that our original objective of providing ‘comfy sofas and beds’ was recognised. It’s our first year and this review means a lot. Thank you for taking the time to post and we really hope to welcome you again soon. Property Owner

  • "Just returned from the most relaxing stay at Ferrystone in Kingswear."

It’s such a beautifully decorated house with everything you could possibly need and more. It’s conveniently located just a stones throw from the ferry across to Dartmouth and you can hop on the steam train to Paignton just across the road. Parking is available directly opposite the property and this made life very easy. Every window has a beautiful view and you can enjoy this view even more on the stylish raised terrace. I can honestly say it was a heaven! We will hopefully be visiting again very soon.

  • "Absolutely loved Ferrystone Cottage!"

It's beautifully decorated with super-comfortable beds and its location is just brilliant for the Dartmouth ferry - literally right out the door. Also on the doorstep is the steam train to Paignton and lots of beautiful hiking trails with views across The Dart. We equally enjoyed drinks on the terrace, it's the perfect sun trap! All in all, an excellent choice for families or groups of friends alike. We will definitely be back!

  • "This is a lovely apartment."

It is comfortable, beautifully decorated and very well located. However, the management of the property was less positive. With no instructions about how to use the heating or other appliances ( like the hob!), it was rather stressful initially. Also, the only phone numbers at the property are for management companies who were very little help as they didn't know the property at all. We were also taken aback at the lack of info about parking - we couldn't find any parking in the village, so had to use the Marina car park and with two cars that added at extra £100 onto the holiday!

Thank you for you feedback and sorry it was initially stressful! (The opposite of what we want for guests!) We have management companies managing the property as they are nearby. The instructions for all appliances are in the utility room, but we take that point and will put them in the kitchen draws. Heating is left in an ‘always on’ state and heat itself can then be controlled by the up and down arrows on each radiator.‘Paid parking nearby’ was mentioned on the description of the property (payable by Ringo app or card/cash) and if opposite car park is full the. Darthaven marina up the road usually has space (also paid via Ringo app or card/cash). thank you again and hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

  • "The place is absolutely lovely and beautifully decorated."

Our only suggestion would be that the showers require pumps to improve the weak water pressure. Also, it would be helpful to have instructions in the folder that aren’t generic but are specific to the house eg: which bins to use and when they are emptied. Also I made the assumption that we should use the IKEA bag under the sink for dirty bedding and towels, but this wasn’t specified anywhere. Other than that, we thought the place was wonderful. Many thanks

Thank you so much for your kind feedback and we are glad you had a good stay. I will speak to the plumber and electrician about pumps for the showers. We have now ensured refuse instructions are in the property (all rubbish bags can be put in the Seagull sack in garage where it is collected on a Friday morning) bed linen does not need to be stripped as we have cleaners. Thank you again for providing feedback. Hope to see you again soon. Property Owner
