  • "The WiFi in the property is VERY poor."

Took us 30mins to send 1 photo! The TV relies on the WiFi so this was awful. A cup and a few knives looked as if they had been used at breakfast by previous people and just put away dirty. For 2 of us it was adequate but it would be no good for 4 adults and 2 children as advertised - you would all have to breathe in to get 6 round the dining table and the lounge is small with 3 sofas. We enjoyed the holiday as we walked a lot but were very disappointed with the property. I can see why it is for sale.

  • "Well equipped, comfortable townhouse in a great central location, ideal for exploring Dartmouth and surrounding areas."

Great to have a parking space too. Overall cleanliness was good but as other reviews have mentioned the carpets and sofas could really do with a deep clean. The wifi is also very unreliable, at times we could hardly access the connection despite being assured there were no issues before booking which was disappointing but overall we enjoyed our stay here.

  • "Enjoyed our stay."

Minor issues quickly sorted with the very helpful staff. (Lots of) stairs could be an issue for some. As other have said a clean of the carpets and settees wouldn't go amiss but overall very clean. Lounge rug a bit threadbare. Could be a bit tight for six (especially when dining and only one bath/shower) but great for us (two). It is easier to park on the road to unload. Could do with a large NON STICK frying pan and lids for smaller pans. Skylights need cleaning badly (seagull poo-horrid)! Lounge rug a bit threadbare. Wrong instructions for TV and no connection to an aerial so all programmes have to come over the internet and the internet speed is very poor (lots of buffering), gave up on some channels. Would happily stay again.

  • "Great house in fabulous location just a minutes walk to the shops and restaurants."

Property very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Shower was great, kitchen was well equipped, even had an iron and ironing board. Beds were comfortable and the 3rd floor bedroom was amazing and great to have the window open looking at the sky! Parking space underground was a real bonus. Would definitely stay again.

  • "The listing picture is slightly misleading, especially having stayed in an apartment in Dartmouth House previously."

We were a little surprised to find that no. 16 is a townhouse adjacent to the main block and, whilst it is in the picture, we feel a little misled by it. We are also puzzled as to why the king bed is in what appears to be in the smaller bedroom. The internet connection was dire - around 1.5 MB/s at best. This is not acceptable in 2024. The sofas showed a few stains and would benefit from a deep clean. Otherwise the house was well equipped, comfortable and well located.

  • "A really nice property to stay at, very comfortable."

The only negative feedback is providing a better description for access between parking the car and entering the property, a quick guide on using the key fob to access the garage, and an outdoor light by the front door to light the way when entering or leaving the property when darkness falls given the number of steps up to the front door

  • "We had a lovely family holiday in Dartmouth staying at Dartmouth House."

The apartment is very comfortable and has views of the estuary as well as being right in the centre of town and has a very convenient underground car park. We took two cars and although the apartment only has one space we were able to park the second vehicle on the road outside as the restrictions are for high season. There’s plenty to do in Dartmouth with lots of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as river cruises, steam train (over the river) and heritage places to visit. Communication was excellent and we really enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for your very kind feedback, being unable to personally visit the property as owner, means I have to depend on those managing the property for me. Property Owner

  • "16 Dartmouth house is well located close to the riverside, shops, pubs and restaurants and was the perfect base for our family of 4 plus dog with the added bonus of secure off street parking."

The property is laid out over multiple floors which worked well for us but perhaps wouldn’t suit someone with mobility issues. The beds and sofas were extremely comfortable and it was nice to lie in bed in the mezzanine bedroom and watch the sky through the skylights (there are blinds too). The house was more than adequately equipped for eating in or within a short walk to a choice of places to eat suitable for a range of budgets. There’s a very useful M&S on the same road and the coop in the town is open late which helped us arriving after 9pm. We really enjoyed the Floating Bridge by higher ferry and the Bayards Cove Inn by lower ferry. We also had a delicious Chinese takeaway. Other reviews have commented on cleanliness and water pressure. We found the shower excellent, plenty of hot water and the pressure was really good- a slightly larger shower screen wouldn’t go amiss though. The property was very clean, bedding was really clean and fresh and the towels were fluffy, large and plentiful. The stair carpets in places were a bit grubby but nothing more than we’d expect for cream carpets in a dog friendly holiday let! WiFi was faultless throughout our stay which is a must with two teenagers!! The large tv also had access to Netflix and other streaming services in addition to normal channels and worked perfectly. This was up there as one of the best holiday let’s we’ve had in the UK. Modern, contemporary, comfortable and well located. We would definitely recommend.

Thank you for your very kind feedback. I hope you will visit again. Property Owner

  • "Pros: Perfect location within Dartmouth."

Beautiful house for a family of six. We particularly liked the mezzanine bedroom and the lighting arrangements. Underground parking with the easy parking spot was a boon although small access road was tricky to navigate in our large car when transit van or wide cars parked at the entrance. Cons: Rug in lounge slips a lot, caused me to slide and fall at one point. Wet washing left in machine by previous occupants or cleaner caused unpleasant smell, removed promptly by maintenance. TV not working, channels nor apps. Not great during a football World Cup series. Maintenance tried to sort but couldn’t get it going which was a shame. Firestick offered as a possible solution but not supplied: no resolution made or communicated. Window catch in downstairs front bedroom was broken on arrival as were cords on several of the window blinds. Dining table / chairs design make for a large, cumbersome arrangement, think there could be a better solution for that area. Shame about the niggles, especially the time lost for maintenance to attend; particularly when our break / stay was so short.

Excellent location and great to have the parking. The one thing we were not impressed with was the delivery of fresh linen - which would have been acceptable, had the person just knocked the door and WAITED to be let in to place the bag just inside the door. But all we heard was the slamming of the door after the bag had been delivered to the BEDROOM. Not a good idea at all and especially as a previous review had already highlighted the same problem.

It’s in a brilliant location and has lots of space and the underground parking space is a big bonus. The property is over 4 floors so there is lots of steps this wasn’t an issue for us, but could be for some people. My only complaint was the cleaner letting himself into the property to bring the laundry before our departure time. I was slightly shocked to walk out of the bathroom to find him on the landing.

Very useful to have own parking in a town notoriously difficult to find a space in. Modern apartment with great views (beyond the car park). Furniture has a certain 1980s Habitat feel but this just adds to great property!

The badly damaged iron was replaced rapidly when mentioned. In terms of cleanliness, general cleaning standard was good but some deep cleaning was needed. For example the fridge needed a defrost, The mattress in the front bedroom had a large stain on it and we felt that the mattress protectors and pillow protectors should be washed and replaced alongside the rest of the bed linen on change-over. We are aware that with the current high booking rate there is little down time in which to to the bigger jobs - maybe consideration needs to be given to taking the house out of service for a week to enable needed renovation work to be completed.

  • "The property is on a busy main road next door to Travis Perkins Builders Merchants and across the road from a large car park."

The master bedroom is on a mezzanine floor over looking the lounge area so sadly you get all the noise from the road. Also if a large vehicle such as a bus or truck goes pass the building vibrates. I felt for the price we paid and the photographs online this was a high end accommodation, but the property didn’t reflect this, the stair carpet was badly marked, the blinds broken, Wi-fi very hit and miss and the water pressure needed sorting out. That said the property was spacious for the three of us and the car parking space was good.

Thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. We aim to be as transparent as we can when it comes to property listings and this particular property is noted as being centrally located. There are other properties within this complex that are not so close to the road. In relation to the other issues that you encountered, our office is situated just across the way and so we would have been more than happy to rectify these issues with you had you popped in to see us or given us a call. We will look into them and get them sorted. We do hope that you enjoyed your holiday regardless of these things and hope to welcome you again in the future. Property Owner

  • "This is a great holiday house in a perfect location for access to Dartmouth town and marina and the surrounding area."

The car parking space was essential. As this is a town house style property, there is noise from the floor above the bedrooms so be aware of this if you're trying to get young children to sleep. The top floor mezzanine bedroom is then open to noise from the middle floor living area, so anyone up there has no chance of a lie in once the others in the house are up and about. We loved being able to see the boats and the steam train go by from the lounge windows. The washer dryer was good to have, but we did contact the office to advise the drying cycle didn't really dry the clothes - they were going to get this looked at. Overall a great place to stay and we would love to come back.

! Carpets are cream in colour which shows every stain . The paintwork really needs doing to it is very scruffy this is quite off putting on entry to the hall . The water pressure is very hit and miss. Also the banisters in mezzanine are quite wobbly you would not want to fall against them. The curtain pole in lounge was also hanging out of the wall .This is quite a pricey property and you do expect the above things to be up to scratch we have stayed in smaller cottages very near by in much better condition so we would not use this one again .
