  • "Enjoyed our stay very much but shocked at the end of the week to find scaffolding erected outside the premises - it will make it very difficult for the next tenants to have any privacy or outlook during the working week."

  • "I will start by saying that this is a fantastic apartment, Clean and in great condition in a superb location(In the midst of the shops, two minutes walk from the market and from the river)."

We had a lovely stay and would definitely go again.the Sykes policy of not allowing changes of booking dates within six weeks of the original booking seems mean, there must be a better compromise that allows changes of dates due to illness or other important unforeseen circumstances than this. Naturally there is an expectation that the apartment is kept clean and left in good condition. However, there were no cleaning products left and this was not explained in the arrival instructions. It would have been useful to have been left a few dishwasher tablets. There are two vacuum cleaners in the apartment, however, one had no charger and the Henry was blocked (or broken), had a full bag with no replacements left. We will remember Sykes for an excellent apartment/holiday alongside some less than generous company policies.

  • "This was a lovely apartment in a fantastic location, very central and close to the amenities without being too noisy."

The only real development points I’d raise are that there were no spare bin bags provided, the kitchen could do with a large oven proof dish adding to the plentiful saucepan collection and lastly the chimney kept dropping soot which needed cleaning up daily. Sort those items out and this would be a five star rating. Lovely finishes and a superb layout for a family of four or two couples.

  • "This apartment is a fantastic find."

It is bright, airy and spacious with all the facilities we needed for a great stay. It was immaculately clean on arrival and felt immediately welcoming. Beds are very comfortable, the bathroom is really well appointed and spacious, and the living space is very comfortably furnished. Very convenient location for all of Dartmouth's facilities and attractions. It is next door to a bar but the bar closes at 10 pm each night and after that the apartment is very quiet and peaceful. I would thoroughly recommend this apartment.

  • "The accommodation requires further details on the listing such as you need to access via a fire escape."

Trying to lug a suitcase up there is not easy. The elderly or disabled would find it impossible especially if it was raining and wet. The property it’s self was nice. There were minor points that have marked it down such as toilet roll holder broken, shower holder broken, no hand wash or washing up liquid ( as I’ve found in all other properties). I am not sure it’s pet friendly with no where to let your dog out. I wouldn’t stay there again despite its great location.

  • "This was a lovely, well appointed apartment."

It was furnished really nicely. Situated in the centre of Dartmouth. The outside area was disappointing. Very dirty and not very pleasant views. Disappointed at the zip and link bed situation. The bottom sheet didn't fit and the use of single mattress protectors on a zip and linked bed didn't work. Having said that we had a lovely holiday.

COUPLE OF MINORS FOR ATTENTION Given that it rained nearly the entire week we were there and it was cold , the heating was very temperamental, .. there were days when it did not come on at all ....prehaps this could be looked into. The lighting over the steps leading to the flat does'nt work....needed for when coming in when it's dark.

  • "Fantastic location in the centre of town."

Only 5 mins walk to the car park. Beds very comfy. Kitchen more than adequate with neff appliances. Cosy living room. Although a log burner would be nice for the colder nights. Lovely bathroom. Although I would bring a bathmat as Bath tended to be slippy. Paintwork looked a little tired in places. On the whole good value for money and a great base for exploring the south coast of Devon.

  • "A really lovely break slightly marred by the failure of the heating/ water Combi boiler on our last day/evening."

Once the staff were aware of the issue they kept us informed and arranged for heaters to be delivered. They made contact with the property owner who also owned the property next door and we were given keys to this property to enable us to access the shower etc. Very impressed with the way the issue was dealt with. Regarding the property itself, I think that the description should mention that access is via an exterior metal “ fire escape” style stairway. This was slippery when wet and this together with the slippery flagstones leading to the stairway made access a little precarious at times. This was probably not helped by mortar dust from and adjacent building undergoing renovation settling on the stairway and flagstones. One of our party was a lady who used a walking stick and she found this tricky. This was fed back to the team in Dartmouth and they will arrange cleaning of this area. A couple of Helpful suggestions: wall mirrors in the bedrooms and a charger for the wall hung cordless vacuum cleaner in the kitchen. Overall very impressed with the service and property. Thank you.
