  • "We know that this property is up for sale and took this into consideration."

However we still expected it to be of a reasonable standard. First thing we found was a needle and thread in the bedroom quilt. Good job it didn't end up in one of us! The bathroom was grubby and the shower full of mold, we had to clean it from top to bottom as we also had to do this for the kitchen and all the crockery and utensils. We definitely left the place considerably cleaner to when we arrived. The stair banister was filthy and the wipes we used to clean it were black after use. The lights in the lounge have the incorrect dimmer fitted and the lights either flashed or didn't provide enough light. The glazed panels in the patio doors to the bedroom balcony are blown and full of condensation. The light on the bedroom balcony does not work. The downstairs landing windowsill is rotten. The garden is excellent and afforded fabulous views of the river and Kingswere and fortunately the weather was brilliant so we used it a lot. the sofa in the lounge was comfortable and the TV's were a good size and spec. Fortunately none of the faults stopped us enjoying our holiday but this may have been different if the weather was inclement and we could not have used the garden. Does the cleaning staff check the cleanliness?

  • "Great property very comfortable beds and sofa."

Clean well equipped and great location. Only negative was the garden isn’t our dog proof and there was no instructions from the owner on rubbish, linen etc. luckily we managed to get the rubbish out on Friday as we saw it coming down the road. There was also recycling left outside the back door from the previous guests, so couldn’t recycle or know when to put out.

  • "We had a lovely time and it was a bonus that the bedroom balcony was now available as the listing had said under maintenance."

Weather was great so we enjoyed the garden. It was only a very short stay this time but we’d come back. The only minor thing that wasn’t great was that we ran out of toilet roll on Saturday night and hadn’t realised and the shops were closed. Given we were only there for 36 hours I think there should have been enough not to need to replenish.

  • "Very helpful and rapid support from the Coast and Country Cottages team, including details of preparation for our stay, recommended activities during the stay and how to leave the property at the end of our stay."

The property was very clean with useful facilities and equipment which made our stay very pleasant. The view of the river from the garden, which featured ample seating and tables, was a particular highlight. Provision of a parking permit was very useful. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay close to the centre of Dartmouth as the town centre is a very short walk away.

Absolutely loved the garden and the views. Great proximity to Dartmouth centre (despite the steep hill!). Friendly neighbours. Would definitely book again. Thank you for hosting us.
