  • "A delightful and immaculate property, the cleanest I've stayed in, and a pleasure to spend a week there."

The only very minor points are the lack of a welcome basket of local produce/pint of milk , common in similar properties run by the same company, and previously mentioned by other holidaymakers. In fact in this place there IS a basket, but it's tantalisingly empty - despite the sticker on a cupboard reminding them to supply biscuits! Also it was good to have all of the appliances' manuals but we couldn't find the one for the washing machine anywhere - but worked it out for ourselves. Plus, the wardrobe in the main front bedroom had a couple of very loose doorknobs on it - both of which fell off. Finally, the rubbish collection system here has some very specific instructions involving a private company collecting the rubbish early on the day of check-out , which was good to know, so we placed our black bin bags in the numbered wheelie bin which had been left just at the top of the drive but didn't see anyone collect anything.

  • "Generally the house was lovely and we had a really nice stay, the only thing we felt needed improving was the state of the garden both front and back."

Both gardens were really overgrown making the property look shabby and badly kept from outside. The grass obviously hadn't been cut for months, nor the front hedge cut back. When getting in or out of the car on the driveway it was either into long knee height grass or into an overgrown hedge the other side. As we had a lot of rain during our stay you got drenched from the wet hedge just getting into the car. We paid a lot of money for our stay, so would a least expect things to be tidy and better kept. The garden let the property down a bit really. A lovely house though and just as shown in the photos. Hill to town is a killer!

  • "The house was excellent, well fitted out and spotless."

Unfortunately the garden was a jungle with the overgrown hedge reducing the parking space. Most disappointing.

  • "Well located property for Dartmouth and surrounding area."

The house is nicely decorated and feels homely. Sleeps six comfortably with a nice en suite in the main bedroom. All mod cons are there including smart speakers. The walk into the town centre is quite long and is a steep climb on the return journey. Would definitely recommend.

  • "The house was lovely and our stay was fabulous in a quiet area."

We have been to Dartmouth before and enjoy the area very much. As written in the guest book for feedback; Really needs another sofa in lounge if more than two people staying as two club chairs and a window seat wouldn’t suit 6 comfortably. In the kitchen a teapot, butter dish and plastic cooking utensil with holes to drain poached eggs would be a welcome addition. A pint of milk on arrival would also be thoughtful after long journeys as this is quite usual in most holiday lets. Have recommended the house to other family members.

Cottage very good - location very hilly - should put No 90 Bus route as option in details - surprised no hair dryer & limited type of drinking glasses (no real beer glasses) no butter dish cover and confusion on rubbish someone - (not us) put out black bin bags out of the boxes after we arrived on the Saturday near the gate that were not collected and remained with ours after we left the property the following Saturday - otherwise a very lovely place to stay

  • "Celadon is an amazing house to stay in."

The house and decor are immaculate and the facilities are exceptional, for example in a house for 6 actually having several pans big enough to cook for 6! (Doesn't always happen) The owners have gone above and beyond with the little extras like a nespresso machine with pods provided. I would without hesitation recommend Celadon.

The whole house has been refitted beautifully, with super stylish decor and comfortable furnishings. The kitchen in particular had the Wow factor in abundance. • "Thank you for providing a lovely holiday home for our week in/above Dartmouth."

Our fitness has improved after a week of walking to and from town! Highlights included: Naval Collage guided tour, Steam train and Ferries and clement weather to generally wind down in.

  • "We had a fantastic stay at Celadon for Christmas and the festive decorations were a nice touch."

Great property and the images don’t do justice to the space especially in the lovely open plan dining/ kitchen. Good location for exploring Dartmouth and Devon and the outside garden space would be a great bonus in the summer months. Parking appreciated too. Thank you. Hope to visit again :-)

Helen, thank you for your very helpful comments. We're delighted you had an enjoyable Christmas break in the house. We very much look forward to welcoming you again if you decide to come back to Dartmouth. Property Owner

About the location

DARTMOUTH

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.
