  • "Our only concern is a lack of crockery and cooking equipment in the cottage."

This cottage slept at least 6 people and there was a shortage of crockery, cutlery etc. We were only two people and noticed it. Things like no sieve, etc. Could do with a review of this otherwise we loved the cottage, thank you.

  • "Chapel House is fantastic accommodation for a family of 5."

Kids all had their own room and bathroom on the first floor, whilst we had the fantastic lower ground floor bedroom and bathroom. The house is full of character, has amazing views, and is right in the centre of Dartmouth. We will definitely be returning.

  • "The garden and outside area was a bit messy/dirty and the top balcony and plastic netting made the balcony unwelcoming and the railing seemed very wobbly!"

My husband did a few jobs whilst we were staying including cleaning the dishwasher filters and spiny arms and adding salt so it would actually wash properly, he also emptied the lint from the tumbler drier and changed the batteries in the remote control. We were told to bring tea towels and they were not required which was great but there was a lack of toilet roll so I suggest all visitors would expect to have that provided and save on not providing tea towels ?!? Just an idea having to buy toilet roll after paying £900 for 3 nights is not what I would expect !

  • "Brilliant location right near town centre and harbour."

Lovely house,Comfortable and well equipped. Had such a good time in Dartmouth and loved coming back to the house in the evening. Comfy beds and the downstairs is brilliant. Showers great and heating easy to work making it a warm house very quickly when it was. Cold and rainy !

The house was immaculately clean and felt very cosy and homely. I would highly recommend as an excellent base for exploring Dartmouth.

  • "Hot water ran out when 7 people showed in the evening Parking a VERY big issue with only 1 permit for 2 cars and 7 people and no parking on the street."

Basement room very musky.. no proper ventilation, damp, dreary and no real welcoming atmosphere. The dampness aggravated my hay fever. Seagulls also a Big problem.. very noisy. Ground floor and top floor very comfortable.

  • "Really disappointing."

We booked Chapel House for Dartmouth week in the full knowledge that the price had been increased multiple times because it was Dartmouth week. However the listing made the property sound very good so we decided to book it and treat ourselves. The downstairs floor was incredibly musty and smelt very damp and was unsuitable for some of our party who had respiratory weaknesses. We had to open all the windows continually and try and get rid of the damp musty smell and that did not really clear it. There was nowhere on the paperwork asking us to report problems and as it was Dartmouth week we knew that everywhere would be busy. I made a complaint and was totally disregarded .. very disappointing for such an expensive property. I would have hoped the property would have been checked and made sure all rooms were suitable to be occupied.

  • "We have stayed here before and would come back again."

A few improvements would help - An extra socket by the kettle and toaster - one of the upstairs bedroom latches doesn't secure the door. Window ventilation isn't ideal but not sure how this could be improved easily. Other improvements would require some capital expenditure which may not be possible:- 1) Another toilet would be useful especially if the house has 7 occupants. 2) The access to the garden is far from ideal, really needs to be accessed from the living room balcony. 3) The garden area would be improved if the centre part was slabbed over making it easier to sit out/sunbathe/eat out

  • "Lovely house - clean, tidy, functional and felt like a home from home!"

Had 3 teenage children which worked really well with the bedroom layout ! Great location within a 5 minute walk of centre. Lovely sunny house which we enjoyed spending time in - excellent wifi, dvds etc...for when the weather turned !! Could not fault the house having booked many for family holidays.

  • "We loved Chapel House and would definitely rent this property again and would highly recommend it."

We are a family of 5 and having 2 teenagers, the priority was to have good Wi-Fi (!) and to be located in walking distance of the centre of Dartmouth....the Wi-Fi was super and we were 5 minutes walk from everywhere!! Chapel House was perfect - bedrooms were fab, the living/kitchen area was perfect and the house was spotless and had everything we needed for a really comfortable stay. Plus, it's in Dartmouth which is beautiful.
